Sober Not Mature

Guess who's back? Yep, back again. Mike and Bill for another fun filled episode.

Mike started out with his reading and it was about freedom, learning and being open to new ideas. It was a really good reading and made for a great conversation.

Then we were all over the place again. We talked about football, Halloween, the top states for alcohol consumption, internet issues, turn signals, Marc Maron with Keith Urban and Robert Patrick, the 11th Step (we have it all figured out now), lies, excuses, tolerance and understanding.

It was a lot, but we tried to make sense of it all. Or maybe we just had some fun doing it.

Enjoy the episode.

Bill
All right, everyone. Welcome once again to another episode of Sober, Not Mature. And tonight, we are friends, we're brothers, but on Sunday, it's going to be a podcast divided.

00:00:13.98
Mike
Uh-huh. Ah. oh Took me a second. I was like, what the fuck is he talking about? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's some goddamn football game on. Who cares?

00:00:24.87
Bill
Well, I know, but it's the, it's the only time it's twice a year when the Lions and the Packers play that, uh, at least there's a little bit of, uh, I don't want to say rivalry because I don't think either one of us care about the rivalry too much, not between you and I, you know, but, um, I figured out something already.

00:00:29.06
Mike
Uh-huh. Right. Right.

00:00:40.17
Bill
I can't win in that matchup anyhow because well, a couple of things, Detroit's really good. I mean, I, I take nothing away from them and blah, blah, blah and all that stuff.

00:00:44.99
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:00:47.72
Bill
But. the The thing of it is, if um if the Packers win, I could easily, you just said it. Yeah, it's a football game. What the fuck? Because I could see you saying, I'm a baseball guy.

00:00:55.13
Mike
Right.

00:00:56.69
Bill
I don't care anyhow.

00:00:57.61
Mike
yeah Yeah.

00:00:57.81
Bill
Packers won. So so I lose my, you know, completely win down to my sales if they win. But if the Lions win, you could just go at me and I got, I can't say anything. I'm like, what the fuck am I going to say?

00:01:07.59
Mike
Right.

00:01:08.56
Bill
You know?

00:01:08.83
Mike
Not, you know, right. I mean, you know, I don't pay that much attention.

00:01:10.60
Bill
okay

00:01:12.11
Mike
Um, there was, uh, yeah, I heard something somewhere somewhere on the radio.

00:01:12.65
Bill
Right.

00:01:18.48
Mike
Somebody was talking about some football shit and, um, apparently it's going to be a fairly competitive game. So, you know, yeah, right.

00:01:25.60
Bill
Yeah. Yeah.

00:01:26.98
Mike
So there there's that, right. I mean, I know the lions are decent. They were decent last year and they're decent this year. And, uh, yeah, I don't even know if I'm going to be able to see it.

00:01:36.41
Bill
Oh, yeah. it's ah It's a late game. It's four. It'd be on, yeah, whatever it is, a 4.25.

00:01:39.99
Mike
Right. I, again, so how much I pay attention.

00:01:42.37
Bill
Your time.

00:01:43.28
Mike
So I don't know if it'll be on here or not, you know, we'll see.

00:01:44.06
Bill
Right.

00:01:46.71
Bill
Oh, yeah, it will. i Because I looked and it's the it's the Fox late game like that. And I think they did it on purpose. I mean, it's a divisional game. And I think with knowing how the Packers and the schedule has been set for a long time.

00:01:57.21
Bill
And I think they it's ah it's a showcase game. And I think it's turning out to be better than what the network turned you know thoughts thought it would be.

00:02:02.89
Mike
Yeah.

00:02:03.66
Bill
Because what I didn't know is that whoever wins it's going to be first in division.

00:02:03.86
Mike
All right.

00:02:08.51
Bill
So there's there's more implications to the game on top of just being the Lions and in the Packers.

00:02:12.63
Mike
I'm fucking bored already.

00:02:13.38
Bill
and I know it's just it's just I don't know it's i I I Think it'll be a good game and I just think it's funny twice a year We get to you know, you're the you're a Lions fan when you feel like being a Lions fan.

00:02:17.67
Mike
You're welcome listeners.

00:02:21.96
Mike
Right, yep.

00:02:26.13
Mike
Yeah, right, you know, we're root, root, root for the home team, even if it's not the right sport, you know, whatever, yeah.

00:02:26.62
Bill
So Right So, um, so you play hooky today, huh?

00:02:34.31
Mike
I did.

00:02:36.40
Bill
Do tell that that might be more interesting to the listener.

00:02:37.52
Mike
oh hey right no Um I had a complete shit show of a day on Wednesday and by the end of that day I was like, you know what I'm taking fucking Friday off so I did Yup, yeah, so I mean, you know again no big deal.

00:02:43.47
Bill
I

00:02:50.91
Bill
Good, good.

00:02:54.58
Mike
Um, I I have PTO and I was like, you know what? I'm taking the day off and it did and um, yeah I Yeah, I sat here and did shit. I didn't do anything.

00:03:05.79
Mike
I i kind of planned on doing a couple of things and um I didn't do any of it. I paid a couple of bills. So, but that's click, click, click on the phone. And yeah, so that was the extent I worked my thumb out a little bit today.

00:03:19.65
Bill
Well, it's kind of like Peter in office space. I did absolutely nothing and it was everything that I thought it would be. so there was so that's ah um I don't know if that's exactly how the line goes, but that's kind of what it is. you know Just, yes, sitting around doing that.

00:03:29.15
Mike
Yeah, pretty much.

00:03:31.95
Bill
I ended up taking some PTO this week, but I'll i'll get to, no, that was last week. That was with the power, nevermind.

00:03:36.85
Mike
Yep.

00:03:37.03
Bill
I got a couple of little stories I'll i'll talk about later, but yeah, I had another little little snafu here, but hey, it it it is what it is. but

00:03:44.33
Mike
Right.

00:03:45.37
Bill
Yeah, as of as of tomorrow, tomorrow I'm out of here. it Oh, Kathy texted me last night. I don't know, right before I was going to bed. She's like, oh, by the way, she's like, the internet went out. I went to reset the router, and the router didn't go back on.

00:03:55.89
Bill
She's like, I called the cable company. They couldn't get it back on. She's like, they they're coming out on Saturday to try to fix it. And she's like, I already told them it's got to be set by Monday, because she got it working.

00:04:03.75
Mike
right

00:04:04.13
Bill
I'm just like like, that sucks. I'm like, um I'm fucking going to bed.

00:04:07.94
Mike
All All right.

00:04:08.72
Bill
because i'm like i i can't even i can't even forethink about you know or think forward forethink forethought uh but anyhow but you you do what i bet that's the worst that's the worst part

00:04:13.50
Mike
Forethink. Forethink. Yeah, right. Yeah. That's present tense of forethought. Sure. Why not? I'll co-sign that bullshit.

00:04:24.74
Mike
Yeah. Right. Right. Yeah. Living in the the right, man.

00:04:29.89
Bill
yeah

00:04:29.91
Mike
Living in the future.

00:04:31.65
Bill
But I'm like, cause immediately I'm about to go to bed. I'm like, God, now I'm going to fucking worry about, am I going to be able to work? What am I going to do? Should I go? Should I book another Airbnb? I mean, it's just, I don't know. It was, then I'm like, fuck it. I don't know. I'll, I'll look around, do some stuff, but, um, I,

00:04:43.60
Mike
Right. Go sit in the public library.

00:04:46.49
Bill
Yeah, exactly. yeah take Take my whole setup, take my fucking computer in there, find the find the router and just sit in the corner.

00:04:49.32
Mike
Yeah.

00:04:52.19
Mike
Yep.

00:04:52.63
Bill
Hi, I'm so-and-so from you. Pay your fucking bill, bastards.

00:04:56.38
Mike
Right.

00:04:58.41
Bill
But I did book another trip to Wisconsin, but I'll talk about that a little bit too. That's a nice little thing and coming up in a couple of weeks. But anyhow,

00:05:04.18
Mike
Cool.

00:05:05.20
Bill
um All right, so we bored each other and and our listeners with football. You had a great day doing nothing.

00:05:09.31
Mike
Mm hmm. Right?

00:05:11.24
Bill
We've got some shit to talk about. I got a lot of stuff to talk about, so like get I got stuff on the list here.

00:05:13.83
Mike
No.

00:05:16.13
Bill
I'm up to two and a half pages now, so I restocked.

00:05:17.90
Mike
Wow.

00:05:19.41
Bill
I restocked the bullshit.

00:05:21.43
Mike
Good.

00:05:22.42
Bill
yeah so ah

00:05:23.14
Mike
Somebody's got to do it.

00:05:24.50
Bill
um right but okay so your one job every week is to look for a reading so did you do that today I know you're sitting around working out your fucking thumb and then you didn't thumb through a book right

00:05:28.41
Mike
yeah ha ah Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you know, yeah, pop fucking 10 minutes ago.

00:05:40.11
Mike
Right. But I did. I, you know, better late than never. But yeah, um again, flipping around, nothing jumped out at me, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So um I did find one that was kind of all right.

00:05:52.88
Mike
um It's actually Leap Day, February 29th.

00:05:57.18
Bill
Oh, the extra one.

00:05:57.63
Mike
i Yes, out of God grant me. So, uh, right. Apparently we read it this year and we won't get to read it again for three years. So what the fuck, man? We'll read it tonight.

00:06:07.90
Bill
Right.

00:06:08.01
Mike
Um, all right, here we go. Uh, only the educated are free. Appeticus. He was a Greek philosopher. All right. Uh, every one of us gets many chances to continue learning in our lives.

00:06:22.76
Mike
We miss many of these chances because we just don't see them. It's very easy to stop learning. We get into habits of doing things the same old way. We stop reading about science or literature or geography or politics. We don't know what's going on in our community. We even eat the same kinds of foods every day. When we stick with what we already know, we stop growing.

00:06:48.78
Mike
Our world and our life get very small. We get stuck, we get left behind. We give up our power to be free. When we were using, we couldn't be free. Freedom takes energy and all of our energy went into feeding our addiction. Now that we are sober, we have energy to pay attention and to learn. We can break out of our little we break out of the little box that we lived in. We can make free choices.

00:07:17.84
Mike
Prayer for the day, higher power, help me to be free today. I will pay attention to new things. You're i' paying attention to new things that you are trying to teach me so I can make new choices. Today's action. I will list three ways I couldn't be more free if I learned something new. I will talk with my sponsor about what it takes to really be free.

00:07:43.55
Bill
All right, so the the last thing, as always, so three things that you can list, three things that you could do what to learn to free.

00:07:51.85
Mike
Uh, right. I will list, uh, three ways I could be more free if I learned something new.

00:07:58.44
Bill
Okay. So anything right off the the top of your head with that? First of all, I like this whole thing about, you know, the freedom and the learning. And I got, I wrote down a bunch of different, different things on there, but can you think of anything off the top of your head that, uh, I mean, that you could be more free by learning things or, I mean, right.

00:08:04.52
Mike
who

00:08:07.20
Mike
Right.

00:08:14.53
Mike
Um, yeah, but I don't know them so I can't I can't put them in into words. No. Well, yeah, right I mean I you know, I read this one whatever like I said 10 minutes ago and I went ah shit, you know because um, I'm very guilty of this, you know, um, I i mean I certainly try to be open and try to you know keep keep my eyes and ears and mind open to learn new things, but I am very much, you know again, that balancing creature a habit and have to be in certain things. um

00:08:48.58
Mike
but I've got to make sure that I don't get too stuck in a rut. And, you know, frankly, I am a lot of the times, um, you know, I do the same shit because I want the same results, but, um, I have to remember that, you know, I, I want more results.

00:09:03.16
Mike
I really do get that, that addict in me still wants more.

00:09:04.81
Bill
Right.

00:09:07.72
Mike
Um, and I have to transfer that into, I still, I want more freedom. I want more choices. I want, I want more education. I want to know more things. Um,

00:09:19.12
Mike
You know, I, but again, it's, it's working and I'm guilty of not doing it a lot of the time. Um, so yeah, I mean, off the top of my head, uh, ways I could be more free by learning something new.

00:09:32.62
Mike
I bet again, I don't know what I don't know. So it's, it's, I can't, you know, I wish I did. If I knew him, then I wouldn't need to know him because I'd already know him.

00:09:39.09
Bill
Right.

00:09:41.37
Mike
I wouldn't need to learn them. Right. Yeah. Motherfuckers.

00:09:45.58
Bill
Yeah, I know. what that's That's why I had to read that over, because it didn't, even though literally it was like 30 seconds that by the time I asked the question, I'm just like, it didn't it didn't stick.

00:09:48.33
Mike
Right.

00:09:51.56
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:09:54.69
Bill
And it sure as fuck didn't click, because I was kind of thinking the same thing as you were talking about that.

00:09:56.41
Mike
Right.

00:09:59.75
Bill
And I agree with everything you said. I mean, the um i mean from Creature of Habit, so am I. Even down to the point, I was laughing when you know it said like, even down to the point of eating the same foods or doing, I'm like, um like Jesus Christ.

00:10:09.98
Mike
I did think of you.

00:10:10.79
Bill
i mean Well, in and you know there's there's two reasons why I do that. Number one is because um it's a matter of of ease you know in ease and convenience.

00:10:20.81
Mike
Right.

00:10:21.45
Bill
i I do like to cook when Dawn and I were together and she she cooks a lot now from what I understand that she has over the years.

00:10:26.92
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:10:28.60
Bill
but um She didn't, I think she grew into enjoying it. Those are her words. She didn't enjoy cooking as much as she does now, I think, when we were together, but I did.

00:10:33.63
Mike
Sure. Right. Mm hmm. Right.

00:10:38.64
Bill
So I would i would try recipes, I'd go online and you know you could do, we want chicken, we want broccoli, we want cream of mushroom soup.

00:10:41.84
Mike
Sure.

00:10:46.16
Bill
What can you make? And you get all these recipes.

00:10:47.89
Mike
sure

00:10:48.50
Bill
And we would try stuff like that. and But i had i was I was working at home, I had a little bit more flexibility than I do now and I had the time and whatever. So I did it. you know Um, but now it's like when, when I get done working and it doesn't matter when, when it's been over the last, I don't know, since I've been sober, um, I, I do what I do.

00:11:08.65
Bill
I'm fucking hungry. I want to eat and I want to get on with whatever it is that I'm doing.

00:11:10.45
Mike
Right.

00:11:12.83
Bill
You know, even if it's just sitting on my ass.

00:11:13.05
Mike
yeah Right.

00:11:15.78
Bill
um You know, but so yeah, but the other thing is it's I try to make Conscious and healthy choices, you know, I could I could easily go to a different fast food restaurant every night and you know eat whatever I wanted um You know, but that that's one thing so but yeah, it is.

00:11:22.23
Mike
Right.

00:11:25.10
Mike
Oh, yeah.

00:11:30.66
Bill
It's it's laziness. It's cheapness um You know because I do I'm like, well, I'm not gonna buy that it's too fucking expensive

00:11:31.76
Mike
Mm hmm. Right.

00:11:38.14
Bill
I'd really like that but um I don't know so yeah part of that but it it is it's a it's a creature of habit thing but the other thing that I thought about when you were reading that is the the biggest thing that got my got my mind expanding over the last you know few years was listening to podcasts you know and um

00:11:39.52
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:11:56.57
Mike
Right.

00:11:59.09
Bill
Not just, ah not just sobriety podcast, but some of these other, you know, ones I'm listening to, you know, Mark Baron, I want to mention a couple of things about him, but I mean, the guests he has, the smart list people, all these people, but I mean, up until we started, right before we started doing this, I didn't know what um alcohol free was.

00:11:59.76
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:12:08.51
Mike
Right.

00:12:13.61
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:12:14.55
Bill
I mean, I never heard the term before. I didn't know what gray area drinking was.

00:12:16.68
Mike
Right.

00:12:18.30
Bill
I didn't know any of this shit, you know, sober curious. I'm like, what the fuck is all this stuff, you know? um And it just, it did, it it opened up my mind and we've had people come on here that have talked about it, so we've learned more, you and I have talked about it, so we've learned more, um you know, which interests me, but yeah, when it comes down to the the biggest thing that you said that I 100% and fully agree with is the, we need to be creatures of habit.

00:12:30.43
Mike
Sure. Right.

00:12:43.79
Bill
There's certain things that to, if we changed, it would be to our detriment, you know, that the things that we do daily for our sobriety, you know, so.

00:12:44.15
Mike
Mm hmm. Right. Absolutely. Yeah.

00:12:52.89
Bill
So yeah, it's I don't know. I mean I like You said if I knew what I needed to do to be free I'd freer.

00:12:59.82
Mike
Freer.

00:13:01.50
Bill
Yeah, I would I would be doing it.

00:13:01.72
Mike
Right.

00:13:03.06
Bill
Yeah, I don't I don't fucking know. I i have no idea but

00:13:04.30
Mike
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. But again, um you know, like the the the spiritual shit and all that, you know, I have to have an open mind. I can't, you know, i and I'm totally blanking on the quote from the back of the big book, but, uh, you know, yeah, we, you know, the quickest way to whatever is to fucking shut your mind down.

00:13:22.81
Mike
That's the quote, right?

00:13:23.01
Bill
Right. Right. Yeah. Word for word. I remember that.

00:13:27.17
Mike
Exactly.

00:13:27.42
Bill
I do.

00:13:30.14
Mike
Uh-huh. But yes, right. So I have to keep an open mind and and be willing to, you know, say, I don't know everything and willing to learn new things. And, and that, I think that's enough, you know, to, to be open to new freedoms and new happiness and new, whatever things that I don't know yet.

00:13:45.85
Bill
Right.

00:13:48.98
Mike
Cause if I knew them, then hopefully I'd be doing them.

00:13:51.85
Bill
yeah Well, and the the other thing too is that I think that I can, both of us can honestly say, and I'll i'll speak for you here for a second, is that i I think that both of us are open to learning new things.

00:14:02.97
Bill
it was ah I think there was a point, um not even think, I know there was a point in early sobriety that I didn't, I had no desire to learn anything more than what I was learning as far as sobriety.

00:14:03.13
Mike
Sure.

00:14:14.35
Bill
I'm like, okay. here's the road i'm on i got my blinders on i'm doing this i don't i don't need to learn anything else i'm doing this you know i'm taking in the information that these these good guys are putting in front of me and i don't need to know about you know if i would have heard about fucking gray areas and sober curious is and whatever i'd be like like fuck you this is this is my path i don't need to i don't even need to hear any of that you know so i

00:14:18.42
Mike
Right.

00:14:25.27
Mike
Right.

00:14:28.94
Mike
he

00:14:35.82
Mike
Right. Well, I mean, at that point we went, Oh, that sounds like a good idea. I'll try a little gray area drinking.

00:14:42.62
Bill
Yeah, you know that's god that's and that's another goddamn good point.

00:14:43.67
Mike
Right. It's it's a good thing.

00:14:46.42
Bill
Yeah, that could have been yeah that could have that could have been a string of excuses for us.

00:14:47.10
Mike
We didn't get to get to have those choices. Right. Exactly. Um, you know, I mean, I, I think, right. Oh, it could have, would have.

00:14:56.14
Bill
yeah Right.

00:14:56.97
Mike
Um, right. And I mean, as you were saying that, it was like, well, shit, we were, no, we weren't. open to as much, but we were fucking pretty goddamn open because we're learning all kinds of new stuff on a daily basis, on a momentary basis.

00:15:09.97
Bill
Right.

00:15:12.44
Mike
um So, you know, I mean, there's only so much you could take in at once.

00:15:12.80
Bill
Right.

00:15:16.55
Mike
um And we were taking in a hell of a lot, you know, a whole new way of life. So, um yeah, I mean, you know, I

00:15:22.06
Bill
Right.

00:15:24.80
Mike
As you were saying that, I was like, nah, we were we' were pretty open to shit. We were just we were just you know focused on the stuff that was given to us because we had to be. you know We couldn't go off looking for other ways, especially not our way.

00:15:34.70
Bill
right

00:15:38.70
Mike
We knew that too. So I mean, it was kind of a survival mode for me. to just focus on what those guys were telling us because apparently, you know, they had one, two, three, four, five, 10 years sober and fucking a man, you bet your ass I'm listening to them because I got, you know, three days and don't know how I have that.

00:15:58.05
Bill
Yeah. Right. and And that's a, you know, it's that's a great point. I guess that maybe I wasn't, uh, well, I wasn't, I guess I wasn't given, given myself, uh, or maybe us, uh, you know, uh, the credit, I don't want to say credit we deserve, but giving us the the credit of of being open like that.

00:16:06.96
Mike
Hmm. Hmm. Right.

00:16:12.75
Bill
Cause yeah, cause when we walked in there, I mean, we had, you know, you figure that,

00:16:12.84
Mike
Right.

00:16:17.40
Bill
you know i mean both of us were in our in our early 40s it doesn't matter when we started our our hardcore whatever drinking throw 20 years under each of us you know of a problematic drinking if nothing else you know to where at the end was you know major you know completely raging alcoholic drinking you know and using and in your case but um you know so

00:16:19.72
Mike
Right.

00:16:24.30
Mike
Mm hmm. No, yeah. Sure. sure

00:16:37.15
Bill
to yeah yeah to walk in there and be like, and no, no, no, you're over here. and And I know that, but I'm gonna i'm just gonna lift you up gently and I can put you over here.

00:16:45.87
Mike
ahha

00:16:46.12
Bill
I gotta walk this other this other path and this this is the way to go.

00:16:48.17
Mike
right

00:16:49.29
Bill
you know And yeah, I mean, I guess, I mean, not even guess, we had to be open-minded about that.

00:16:54.99
Mike
Right Yeah Yeah, cuz I mean, you know clearly from our history we could have sat there went fuck you you're all full of shit I'm not doing any of this, you know, thankfully we didn't and

00:16:56.06
Bill
you know

00:16:59.02
Bill
Right?

00:17:04.65
Bill
right

00:17:06.96
Bill
Yeah, and that's, i I know I've said it before, and I don't think this is gonna surprise anyone that hasn't heard it, but um yeah, I mean, I didn't wanna hear anything from any anyone. I don't i don't know, well, I do.

00:17:19.68
Bill
There had to be deep down inside of me, even though I was angry, I was pissy, and I didn't wanna be there and all that stuff, and my outward actions didn't necessarily say what was ultimately inside of me, but there had to be you know that that little bit of willingness, that little bit of hope for me to stick around

00:17:29.40
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:17:33.33
Mike
Right.

00:17:34.41
Bill
and literally not, yeah, and not fight those, you know, the the people that were telling me, I never, ever wanted to be told what to do.

00:17:34.34
Mike
That's just all it takes.

00:17:39.76
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:17:42.42
Bill
I never want to listen to anyone.

00:17:42.79
Mike
Right.

00:17:43.48
Bill
I never want to take direction. um I never wanted any of that shit. And for whatever reason, at that time, you know, I just, even if I just had the, for a while, nine months as I did, you know, go through the motions, it kept me around long enough to figure some of this shit out, you know?

00:17:52.57
Mike
Right. Mm-hmm.

00:17:56.68
Mike
Right. Yeah.

00:17:58.02
Bill
Or at least so at least have some of it make sense.

00:17:59.90
Mike
All right. Actually hear it and go, Oh yeah, that, that right. Makes sense. That makes sense.

00:18:07.12
Bill
Right?

00:18:07.24
Mike
Right.

00:18:08.34
Bill
Well, one of the thing, imagine that as Marty would say, right?

00:18:08.27
Mike
Apparently my way wasn't working.

00:18:13.16
Mike
Mm-hmm.

00:18:15.14
Bill
But it's, said you know, one of the things I, had two things I wrote down, you know, the the same old way and doing the same old things, you know, and that's, um you know, it's the definition of insanity, ah you know, expecting expecting different results and, you know, realizing that, you you know, that we got negative, knowing we got negative results, we're like, no, I'm going to do this again.

00:18:19.97
Mike
see

00:18:23.41
Mike
Right, right.

00:18:32.66
Mike
Right. Exactly. Well, I mean, and that's, you know, as you were saying that it was like, yeah, man, that's, you know, the routines that we do have and the things that we won't change. Um, we, we are expecting the same results.

00:18:44.47
Mike
So it's not insanity.

00:18:44.93
Bill
Right?

00:18:45.91
Mike
We we want the results that we get from doing these things. And so, right.

00:18:49.29
Bill
Yeah, right yeah what ah what a difference, though, is to keep doing the same thing over and over again, but getting positive results the same every day.

00:18:50.70
Mike
yeah Exactly. Staying sober, not hurting the people around us. Yeah, exactly.

00:19:00.83
Mike
Mm-hmm. Right.

00:19:04.58
Bill
Yeah, and and again, imagine that.

00:19:04.51
Mike
Yep.

00:19:05.98
Bill
We keep doing these things every fucking day. And guess what? you know we're We're sitting here on ah on a Friday night, 14 and a half years later, and you know it's it's you know slightly wonderful. Life isn't always perfect, but I'd say life's pretty goddamn good.

00:19:16.94
Mike
hoof That's much better.

00:19:18.76
Bill
you know every

00:19:22.98
Bill
Every... I mean, I've got my, again, I got a couple of things.

00:19:25.67
Mike
Hmm.

00:19:26.34
Bill
I had a story about my pizza and had's some shit would work this week, i whatever. But, you know, again, all of these things are in the same thing. Like I said, when, um and, you know, literally right before I'm um just about to, I was looking at my phone to make sure my alarm was set when I got Kathy's texts.

00:19:41.28
Bill
So I'm literally about to lay my head down and I'm like, I may not be able to fucking work on Monday.

00:19:41.73
Mike
Hmm.

00:19:44.57
Mike
Hmm.

00:19:45.20
Bill
It was a first thought in my head.

00:19:46.71
Mike
All right.

00:19:46.94
Bill
You know, but I'm like, what the, I'm like, what, what am I going to do? And I literally, I said to myself, cause I'm nobody's here to, you know, fucking hear it.

00:19:49.69
Mike
Yeah.

00:19:53.51
Bill
I'm just like, I'm like, I'm not going to sit here and fucking dwell on this.

00:19:53.72
Mike
Right.

00:19:57.24
Bill
I'm going to sleep.

00:19:58.36
Mike
Yeah, right. Well, yeah, what do you get? Right. First of all, it's fucking three days away. And second of all, yeah, right you know, it may be nothing.

00:20:03.01
Bill
I know. I know.

00:20:07.11
Mike
why i think Hopefully we've learned if we haven't learned anything, we've learned that sitting there and worrying about something that hasn't happened yet is kind of a waste of fucking time.

00:20:07.76
Bill
Right.

00:20:17.84
Bill
I know, I know, but it's just, it's so fucking hilarious to me. It's almost ridiculous to me knowing that again, you know, I just said 14 and a half years later, I still have that.

00:20:26.61
Mike
Nope.

00:20:28.00
Bill
The default is there, but we've already talked about that.

00:20:29.08
Mike
Yeah.

00:20:30.60
Bill
It doesn't surprise me that I go into this, what the fuck am I gonna do mode?

00:20:32.96
Mike
o hu

00:20:35.26
Bill
Because that's my nature. I've got to get my ass up, you know, and do whatever. But the only thing I thought about realistically today is, okay, what's the backup? And I've got a couple ideas on what a backup would be, but

00:20:43.82
Mike
Sure.

00:20:45.44
Bill
um It wouldn't be be more work You know cost a little bit of money to go find a fucking Airbnb and whatever but um I can I can have a backup i I can have a backup plan.

00:20:48.55
Mike
Yeah. Right.

00:20:56.52
Bill
It can work and whatever, you know, but um it just yeah, he said that fucking default setting it's stupid but I just wrote down three words towards the end of it and just be free today and I'll remember how it was in context or anything like that But that as I'm scribbling stuff and you said I'm like, oh, yeah be free today, you know, I mean that's

00:20:56.77
Mike
right

00:21:07.57
Mike
Yeah. Yeah.

00:21:15.44
Bill
That's a wonderful statement. that's That's a motto. I want to tell myself that every fucking day, um regardless of what goes on.

00:21:19.64
Mike
yeah

00:21:21.71
Bill
I mean, i I am free. I'm free to make choices today. Hopefully they're all good. Well, hopefully most of them are good ones.

00:21:26.95
Mike
where Right. Exactly. Yeah. Let's not set our expectations too high.

00:21:32.53
Bill
that's i I caught myself immediately, immediately.

00:21:32.88
Mike
Yes. Right. Right.

00:21:36.15
Bill
Because ah again, that's so stupid. The shit comes out of my mouth. And you know, I mean, it's just funny. i that's ah That's a funny part. And that's one of the things, i there's many things I enjoy about doing this podcast. But um I mean, the fact that it's it's, I think it's taught, I know it's taught me um to catch myself immediately, you know?

00:21:54.24
Mike
right.

00:21:54.49
Bill
Because as I'm saying it, you know, I'll say something,

00:21:56.82
Mike
You're hearing it.

00:21:58.10
Bill
Yeah, and then um I'll say something stupid and I'll i'll either hear from you like, that I'm like, God damn it.

00:21:58.21
Mike
okay

00:22:03.85
Bill
That's like, that's like the gong or something like that from the gong show. It's like, or you know, somebody just fucking shot me.

00:22:08.25
Mike
Right.

00:22:09.79
Bill
I'm like, yeah I got it. I heard it. I heard what I heard what I just said, you know, but, but then again, you know, realizing that, you know, these aren't just thoughts in my head.

00:22:11.20
Mike
machine

00:22:18.47
Bill
These, these could be going out to a handful of people that, you know, we want to make sure that at least we're trying to pass along.

00:22:21.11
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:22:24.44
Bill
Factual information, if nothing else, doesn't have to be the great information, but you know, it's it's true from the heart.

00:22:25.39
Mike
Right. Ah, right. It's it's honest and whatever. Exactly.

00:22:34.59
Bill
So question about the February 29th, though, and like you said, you know, we we just read it, we'll read it for three years.

00:22:37.07
Mike
Yeah.

00:22:39.47
Bill
Do you read February 29th every year?

00:22:41.68
Mike
No.

00:22:42.86
Bill
I do, I do, yeah.

00:22:43.49
Mike
Oh, do you? All right. No, I skip over it. Cause it's not today. It's living in the now, man.

00:22:49.18
Bill
Yeah.

00:22:50.20
Mike
So, oh, no, it's not February 29th. It's March

00:22:54.23
Bill
And I think, I think I started it. um I may have just started doing that since we've been doing this since, since I busted myself out for not reading the actions. I'm like, I'm like, Oh, there's another reading. I got an extra four minutes.

00:23:05.30
Bill
I'm going to, I'm just going to read this and you know, but ah maybe, Oh gosh, I'm going to put more good thoughts in my head.

00:23:05.33
Mike
Hmm.

00:23:10.79
Bill
Ooh.

00:23:10.76
Mike
Yeah, right. Yeah.

00:23:12.28
Bill
You know, but

00:23:12.24
Mike
I mean, that's nice. But yeah, right. I don't again, you know, I'm right. I probably, you know, keeping myself from some knowledge. There's, there you go. But, um, yeah, you know, I'll get to it in three years.

00:23:25.57
Mike
Yeah.

00:23:25.83
Bill
Right.

00:23:26.01
Mike
It's again, it's the living in the now it's today is February 28th. Today is March 1st and it is not February 29th. So that's not what I'm going to read today.

00:23:37.64
Bill
Yeah, and and seriously, I just thought when, as I was saying, I think, I literally think I just started doing it over the last couple of years. And I don't know what got in my head about it. It probably was it the fact that I wasn't reading the actions, but I don't know.

00:23:48.51
Bill
if I'm like, yeah, little reading here or there. But there's times too, when, you know, I'll pull if the, if one of the, again, four things that I read in the morning, I don't really, again, like you always say, don't jump out at you or whatever, ah whatever I'll post that day.

00:23:59.83
Mike
Right.

00:24:01.74
Bill
Sometimes I'll just, I'll scroll back in my and my pictures, you know, cause I've screenshot all these fucking things.

00:24:07.49
Mike
Right.

00:24:07.62
Bill
I'll just scroll back and find one that I liked from six months ago and repost that you know, so sometimes I'll give myself an extra reading just because I I couldn't find something fresh that it just it didn't again didn't hit me the right way that day, you know, so but Yeah, I don't know but hey, it's his it's November already.

00:24:11.34
Mike
Ah.

00:24:16.21
Mike
Right.

00:24:20.25
Mike
Yeah. Right. Yeah. Cool.

00:24:27.54
Bill
It's fucking gratitude month So we ought to be grateful got to be grateful for something

00:24:29.05
Mike
Oh yeah. All right. If I have to.

00:24:33.90
Bill
Yeah, yeah straighten up and straighten up and be grateful. but All so um anything else with the reading? I liked it ah once again.

00:24:42.21
Mike
Yeah.

00:24:42.70
Bill
I think I always say that, but anything else that we've hit at all? or Okay, so a couple of quick things.

00:24:45.83
Mike
I think we covered it.

00:24:50.66
Bill
So I saw your fucking pictures on Facebook with your trick or treating.

00:24:53.55
Mike
Ah.

00:24:55.78
Bill
So yeah you actually had people obviously kicking around. yeah I would guess, i did there's kids in your neighborhood.

00:25:00.45
Mike
Yeah.

00:25:00.61
Bill
So you got a certain number of people last night?

00:25:02.90
Mike
Yeah, I had about a dozen or so groups of kids, you know, three or four in each group.

00:25:06.21
Bill
Oh.

00:25:07.62
Mike
So yeah, I had a nice little turnout last night. It was it was warm. It was windy as hell. And they were calling for rain, but we didn't have any till like way later. So um yeah, it was warm.

00:25:17.86
Bill
Oh,

00:25:18.42
Mike
It was like low 70s.

00:25:21.02
Bill
really?

00:25:21.03
Mike
Yeah. Like I said, it was windy as hell. But um other than that, it was really nice night. So what's out on my porch for couple hours with a bowl of candy next to me and didn't eat all of it myself because, you know, I taught somewhere to share.

00:25:37.10
Mike
ah Yeah, it was nice, like I said.

00:25:37.30
Bill
Right.

00:25:40.48
Mike
um And i there's not a lot of kids in the neighborhood. there I mean, there are in the neighborhood, but I live on a kind of a short block. and you know, not, I think there was maybe two other houses on my block that were giving out candy that I could see.

00:25:56.87
Mike
Um, you know, so not a, not a big one for the kids to hit, but, um, you know, I had a few groups come down and yeah, gave the kids candy and said trick or treat and happy Halloween.

00:26:00.40
Bill
Right.

00:26:06.42
Mike
And, you know, had a couple of parents thank me for being out. And I said, yeah, of course, man, you know, it's part of the deal.

00:26:13.34
Bill
Right?

00:26:13.68
Mike
Homeowner part of the community, blah, blah, blah, upstanding citizen. and

00:26:19.64
Bill
Yeah, and we used to, um when when the kids were little, it would, you I'm trying to think if, because we lived in Menominee Falls and Dawn's parents lived in Sussex, which was, I don't know, 20 minutes away from us.

00:26:31.26
Bill
And i I don't remember if they had, it may have been on two different days if I remember correctly, you know? So I think we used to hit both of them. I know we used to take the the kids over by, um you know, her mom and dad and stuff like that.

00:26:42.79
Bill
And we'd all go out, it was in Dawn's neighbor, in her parents' neighborhood,

00:26:42.79
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:26:47.51
Bill
There was a lot of the families, I mean, her her mom and dad had lived there for like fucking 30 years or something like that, so they knew everyone.

00:26:51.38
Mike
Right. Right.

00:26:53.43
Bill
And that was the neighborhood where, yeah, we'd take a wagon, sometimes the kids would be in there, but if not, there was booze in the fucking wagon.

00:26:56.93
Mike
Uh huh.

00:27:00.36
Bill
And you know, same thing, you're running around, people are drinking, you know, obviously adults are all drinking, hey, I'm going through, and Tom's dad used to hang back, because, you know, he was the one, and it's still, I mean, obviously, on his canes and stuff like that, so he couldn't walk around.

00:27:04.84
Mike
Right.

00:27:13.33
Bill
But he'd he'd hang out and watch the candy or do the candy and stuff like that.

00:27:16.50
Mike
Right.

00:27:16.81
Bill
But in our in our neighborhood, i think I think the same thing. Either we took turns or one of us hung back or whatever. And again, we were in a neighborhood where, again, a decent enough amount of kids. But um yeah, and I mean, I heard the same thing they were talking about on the radio.

00:27:26.41
Mike
Sure.

00:27:29.81
Bill
I guess it was really warm in Milwaukee.

00:27:30.35
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:27:31.39
Bill
It was warm here yesterday. you know But there was, and I thought about it, I'm like um like, if I was a kid, first of all, there's only, once you come around this corner to go up this this hill coming up where I am, there's one, two, three, I'm like the third house where I'm staying.

00:27:44.92
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:27:50.73
Bill
One more beyond me, I don't know what's up the road from that, but you might get six houses or something.

00:27:55.13
Mike
Right.

00:27:56.09
Bill
And it's a lot of fucking work to walk up.

00:27:57.92
Mike
yeah

00:27:58.20
Bill
And I posted a picture last night cause I walked outside. It was like seven 30 and it went from like six until eight. I mean, it's dark as fuck. And I'm like, if I was a little kid, man, I'm like, I ain't fucking walking up there.

00:28:09.57
Bill
No God damn way. But on top of that too, you have to fucking haul your ass up, you know, these driveways to get through these fucking houses.

00:28:10.97
Mike
right

00:28:15.87
Bill
It wouldn't be worth it, you know?

00:28:15.99
Mike
Right. Yeah, exactly.

00:28:17.50
Bill
So yeah. And so like your neighborhood, your neighbor is perfect for trick or treating.

00:28:19.16
Mike
Right.

00:28:21.74
Mike
Mm hmm. Yeah, you know, but up like I said, man, mine and I think there was two other houses up up the block that were doing candy. I mean, a lot of people don't do it anymore. Yeah, there's older people here and stuff, too.

00:28:33.08
Mike
So, you know, there are kids. man um I did my time. OK, fuck you, too.

00:28:40.74
Bill
Right.

00:28:41.50
Mike
You know, right? And it's it it's clearly not the same as it was when we were kids. Speaking of being old, sounding old, being old.

00:28:47.06
Bill
Right.

00:28:50.58
Mike
When I was a boy, um you know, and I was, I'm sitting on my porch last night going, fuck man.

00:28:51.77
Bill
It

00:28:56.57
Mike
I mean, when I was a kid, every house was lit up and everybody was giving out candy and there was tons of kids everywhere and it was different. you know, now they do the trunk or treat and shit and all that.

00:29:06.34
Bill
was. Yeah.

00:29:09.48
Mike
And, you know, they do stuff on it. They do it on Saturday before lots of people. That's when they celebrate not on the day anymore and whatever, you know, but I'm going to do what I can to keep the little tradition alive.

00:29:19.22
Bill
Right.

00:29:23.22
Mike
And it's nice having the little kids come up and be happy to get a little piece of candy. So what the fuck?

00:29:29.64
Bill
Right. Well, I mean, that's the thing.

00:29:30.43
Mike
Oh, speaking of which, though, goddamn candy is fucking expensive this year.

00:29:31.11
Bill
I mean, if I was in.

00:29:35.65
Bill
ah You know what, I guess it doesn't it doesn't surprise me, but really how how much was a bag of candy?

00:29:36.13
Mike
Dude.

00:29:40.69
Bill
Just curiosity.

00:29:41.36
Mike
Um, I mean, I got, I got three bags of, you know, many ones, not the little itty bitty tiny ones, but the, you know, the regular fun size. And, um, I got three bags.

00:29:51.86
Bill
Right.

00:29:52.99
Mike
There was like fucking 30 bucks, man.

00:29:55.59
Bill
Oh my god, really?

00:29:56.63
Mike
Yeah, yeah. So um each bag, I think had like 35 mini pieces of candy in it. So yeah, it was, it was fucking expensive.

00:30:09.59
Bill
Yeah, that's ah that's a lot. when i bought um I bought a couple of big bags of candy from Amazon, I think, when we went to that retreat last year, and some of them were just really expensive, but I ended up getting a good deal on on it.

00:30:11.63
Mike
Yeah.

00:30:17.76
Mike
Hmm.

00:30:22.08
Bill
But i mean i'll buy I'll buy Heath bars. I'll get a big bag of Heath bars at like Walmart for six or seven bucks.

00:30:27.06
Mike
Right.

00:30:27.42
Bill
But I mean i don't know how that compares to you know regular, I haven't bought bags of regular candy in a long time.

00:30:31.59
Mike
Yeah.

00:30:33.35
Bill
um I don't know since well when we when I was in the office in Milwaukee we used to Everyone would take turns buying a bag of candy. We'd have this we actually had a trick-or-treatist Fucking pumpkin plastic pumpkin with candy and it all year round that was on either my desk of James our other collection manager, so But yeah, I think it was probably eight or eight or nine bucks for a bag.

00:30:45.68
Mike
Right.

00:30:52.83
Bill
ah Yeah, I suppose even at that time But yeah kind of crazy

00:30:53.90
Mike
Yeah. Right. I don't know. It was just right. I mean, cause I think last year I spent, I spent about the same amount of money, but I had way more fucking candy. So yeah.

00:31:03.40
Bill
Right.

00:31:04.22
Mike
Yeah. What are you going to do?

00:31:05.94
Bill
Yeah, well, we'll see. well Everyone's bitchin' about the, I mean, be included, you know, I mean, cost of this and cost of that. So well see ah we'll see if Tuesday changes anything.

00:31:12.59
Mike
Great.

00:31:16.05
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:31:17.38
Bill
But I don't think anything's gonna fuckin' change.

00:31:18.46
Mike
Probably not now.

00:31:19.71
Bill
Yeah, no, it's gonna be the same old shitty, just a different fuckin' face in there at some point, so.

00:31:23.78
Mike
Yep.

00:31:24.93
Bill
But um curiosity wise, because I actually wrote this down because I think about it last night. um How old, were well two things. How old were you when you stopped trick or treating and was there like a, I was thinking of like a costumes and stuff like that.

00:31:37.23
Bill
What did you used to dress up as when you were a kid? Anything in particular?

00:31:39.31
Mike
Yeah, I mean, I was Alice Cooper a couple of times. Shocker.

00:31:44.68
Bill
There you really, that's fucking awesome.

00:31:44.84
Mike
ah Yeah. ah You know, um did the, you know, the while we were kids, you know, the plastic masks with the plastic fucking uniform thing.

00:31:55.69
Bill
Right, it's fucking terrible.

00:31:57.28
Mike
Yeah. Awful. Right. I think I was Spider-Man. I think I was Frankenstein. um I got a little older. I know I was groucho one year. Um, I think the last time I went out, I was about 14 and, uh, and yeah, I think I just like put on an RV jacket and tied a bandana around my head and said I was a hippie or some shit, you know, right.

00:32:20.23
Mike
Cause you're 14 and you know, so on some fucking candy and didn't have to pay for.

00:32:20.79
Bill
Right.

00:32:25.15
Bill
Right. Yeah. And it's, ah um, God, i I was thinking about the plastic masks. I mean, because, um, yeah, you see that obviously this time of year, all the, all the memes and stuff like that. I have no idea what the, what I dressed up as, but yeah, literally there, this fucking plastic outfit, you know, just, it was like a tablecloth you were wearing that was put into a, into a costume.

00:32:39.54
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:32:42.68
Mike
Right.

00:32:43.56
Bill
And yeah, literally this plastic mask that you just fucking steamed up, apparently Seattle.

00:32:47.04
Mike
Yep.

00:32:49.84
Bill
yeah

00:32:50.39
Mike
Right. Little sharp edges around your eyes and yeah.

00:32:52.95
Bill
Oh God, yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:32:53.52
Mike
Yeah. Yeah.

00:32:54.61
Bill
And then I don't remember what year I started doing it, but I would, um my, I think it was, God, what had it been after? I think it was, it was after um my grandpa died, my dad's dad died.

00:33:05.77
Bill
And he died when I was, God, he died in 70, I might've been eight years old, seven, eight years old. And then my dad gave me his old, he had this fedora type of hat.

00:33:17.04
Bill
um So he gave me that and, ah I don't know if it was for Halloween, but i I just dressed up, you know, fucking take charcoal, put it on my face, get an old shirt, some old ripped up jeans. And I was a fucking hobo, you know?

00:33:25.83
Mike
Right. Ah, practicing for.

00:33:27.77
Bill
And yeah, and yeah. And, you know, I thought about that when I wrote this down. I'm like, isn't it fucking funny?

00:33:34.59
Mike
Uh huh.

00:33:35.74
Bill
Because that's what you call me now. But um yeah, I was well, I mean, at that time, I probably said I was a bum, you know, because that was that was the thing.

00:33:41.75
Mike
Right.

00:33:44.08
Bill
But there was one year when we we're we we're still living in Parma and I had a

00:33:46.85
Mike
I'm a homeless alcoholic.

00:33:48.55
Bill
yeah Yeah, that would have been that would have been a great outfit, right?

00:33:52.76
Mike
that'

00:33:54.72
Bill
But i I had this, um first of all, I had ah ah my candy at a pillowcase that I was got for candy.

00:33:59.52
Mike
Sure.

00:34:01.05
Bill
And then mom had bought me this, it was like, it was a real cigar, but it was like this big oversized cigar, like, a you know, it's not gonna be a hobo or a bum or whatever, it's fucking cigar. So I had this goddamn cigar, I had got tired of holding it, it was in my bag.

00:34:16.26
Bill
These older kids ran by and grabbed my candy. I'm trying to hold onto the pillowcase, the top of the pillowcase ripped off and they stole all my fucking candy.

00:34:22.46
Mike
Mm.

00:34:24.36
Bill
i was pissed I think I was crying too, I'm sure.

00:34:25.30
Mike
Mm. Sure.

00:34:26.79
Bill
because i mean We moved out of there when I was, again, seven or eight, so I was probably six, seven years old.

00:34:31.16
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:34:32.92
Bill
um But yeah, these motherfuckers, I had to go back home and they stole the cigar too. and Get a new pillowcase and try to try to fucking make up for lost time.

00:34:40.88
Mike
Mm.

00:34:41.56
Bill
But the the last time I know that when when we moved to Wisconsin, And I remember this, kids were out trick-or-treating. Larry and I were finishing up building the shed.

00:34:52.68
Bill
So it was like end of October, cold as fuck. It was snowing a little bit, light flurries.

00:34:56.40
Mike
Mm-hmm.

00:34:56.74
Bill
And I think I was, I would have been 13 at that time.

00:34:59.60
Mike
All right.

00:35:00.51
Bill
So would have been the last time I went, would have been in Pittsburgh when I was 12, you know?

00:35:03.82
Mike
All right.

00:35:04.84
Bill
But um yeah, after that, I don't know. I think friends of me, and I might've gone out and fucked around with my friends when I was like 16 or 17 at one point.

00:35:10.70
Mike
Yeah.

00:35:11.90
Bill
We probably hit a neighborhood and just walked up to people's doors. They probably told us to get the fuck out or whatever.

00:35:15.40
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:35:15.90
Bill
but But yeah, it just, ah right.

00:35:17.81
Mike
Yeah, well, shit, by the time I was 16, it was Halloween. I was out drinking.

00:35:24.09
Bill
But no, the the fucking Alice Cooper thing at Groucho, and I mean, that's, you were creative. i would I'm like, I put fucking charcoal in a hat on, you know?

00:35:29.44
Mike
Yeah. a

00:35:31.85
Bill
I mean, I think, oh, you know what? Mom gave me, I might've been one of Grandma Jay's wigs. i had I had a wig, like this wig on too, like this black wig, you know, so I had like puffy hair and this fucking hat on and just, I don't know, it's fucking stupid, but.

00:35:45.92
Bill
you know it was one of those things where i could i could actually dress up warm underneath because i think i had i don't know probably one of grandpa's flannel shirts or something like that so i could actually put i could put it over my jacket or whatever if i wanted to so it was a for perfect fucking outfit for that

00:35:56.46
Mike
right

00:35:59.44
Mike
Right.

00:36:01.44
Bill
But yeah, I had no, no creativity whatsoever. So I just, it's kind of like when I was drinking, I wasn't, it wasn't a special type of alcoholic. I was just kind of like, eh, I need to, I need to get some booze and you know, I'm a kid and I'm like, eh, I need to get some candy.

00:36:10.13
Mike
ge

00:36:14.72
Mike
Right. Yup. Pretty much.

00:36:18.26
Bill
Yeah. But, uh, no, that's kind of, that's kind of fun though. I'm glad, I'm glad you got ah a decent, a decent number of people. So that's kind of cool.

00:36:23.40
Mike
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it was nice.

00:36:26.55
Bill
Well, cool. But um all right, so one one thing real, real quick, and then actually before I, so um heard a thing on the, again, on the morning show, top 10 states that, let me see how it is. Oh, top 10 states that drink the most alcohol per capita.

00:36:45.74
Bill
OK, so I caught my ear, of course.

00:36:49.62
Mike
Sure Is it

00:36:51.05
Bill
So let me let me open this up. So what do you think? And first of all, I'll give you kind of a hint. They put it in. um They do it in gallons, average of gallons per person, which was fucking weird to me.

00:37:03.94
Bill
OK, I just I guess i it is to me when I first thought about it, but I guess now that you know that you mentioned maybe it's not.

00:37:10.70
Mike
That's a really think about it.

00:37:13.89
Bill
So there was, there was two different things that were talking about the top 10 states of, you know, the most alcohol consumed and not on this list, but like California and Texas were like one and two, but they're the biggest states.

00:37:16.04
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:37:23.67
Bill
Right.

00:37:23.98
Mike
Sure.

00:37:24.72
Bill
So then, um, I saw the other one ah about the per capita thing and why that makes sense. Let's do it, you know, per person, you know, then it's, you know, based on state.

00:37:30.07
Mike
Yeah, right.

00:37:31.72
Bill
So who do you think the number one, uh, most gallons on average per person?

00:37:37.23
Mike
I mean, I would, my guests, my first guest would be Wisconsin.

00:37:43.04
Bill
Wisconsin is number eight.

00:37:44.50
Mike
Ah, really that low.

00:37:46.20
Bill
I was surprised.

00:37:47.12
Mike
Yes.

00:37:47.52
Bill
I was surprised.

00:37:47.91
Mike
Right. Um, I yeah i mean, okay. Then we're going to go for, I mean, like Alaska or North Dakota or something like that.

00:37:56.34
Bill
So New Hampshire.

00:37:58.15
Mike
Really?

00:37:59.58
Bill
Okay. so New Hampshire, Vermont, New Hampshire, Vermont, and then Montana.

00:38:00.62
Mike
New Hampshire, Vermont.

00:38:06.23
Mike
Ah, okay. Well, they're the Montanas. That's yeah. But really Rob, New Hampshire, I mean, they are, you know, there's, they're pretty sparsely populated. Um, you know, I don't want to do, I guess I would, but again, that's where I was thinking the Alaska North Dakota again.

00:38:16.39
Bill
Right.

00:38:23.62
Mike
Yeah. Montana makes sense, but wow.

00:38:26.02
Bill
Right, North Dakota, North Dakota's four, Nevada five, then Maine, Delaware, Wisconsin eight, Hawaii and Pennsylvania, okay.

00:38:28.31
Mike
Uh-huh. ah

00:38:34.58
Mike
Wow.

00:38:35.74
Bill
I know it just did this list. I was just kind of, I was doing the same thing. I'm like, really? But so in the top, New Hampshire is 59.5 gallons.

00:38:39.53
Mike
Hmm.

00:38:43.65
Mike
Nice.

00:38:44.76
Bill
and Oh, this is per year, okay? So start doing the math a little bit, because I already did, all right?

00:38:46.57
Mike
Yeah.

00:38:50.24
Mike
Okay.

00:38:50.77
Bill
And if I remember correctly, so 59 gallons divided by, because in a gallon, 128 ounces.

00:38:53.88
Mike
Well, I was just going so like a little over a gallon ah a week.

00:39:02.73
Bill
Right.

00:39:03.32
Mike
Yeah.

00:39:04.31
Bill
Which averages out, if I did the math correctly, to like two beers a day.

00:39:09.90
Mike
Yeah. Really?

00:39:11.83
Bill
yeah

00:39:12.42
Mike
Yeah. Well, I mean, yeah, beers. Okay.

00:39:14.58
Bill
Right, ounces.

00:39:15.42
Mike
Yeah. Couple.

00:39:16.49
Bill
OK, so.

00:39:17.05
Mike
Yeah. Right. 12 ounces. So yeah. All right.

00:39:20.49
Bill
But then I'm like, I'm like, well.

00:39:23.52
Mike
Well, yeah.

00:39:25.84
Bill
I'm like, OK, so it does say, um I mean, this is, you know, al alcohol consumption per capita. I know it's based on averages. You know, there's the people who, you know, certain number of people that never drink at all. Then there's people like us that drink everything.

00:39:35.78
Mike
Sure. Right.

00:39:38.13
Bill
um Because I mean, because i I mean, I can't even I didn't go backwards and figure out how many gallons I was drinking per year.

00:39:44.66
Mike
Hmm.

00:39:45.95
Bill
But I mean, I don't know, dozen beers, you know, throwing some shots in there.

00:39:49.78
Mike
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

00:39:50.72
Bill
I mean, you start.

00:39:50.76
Mike
Right. A day. Right.

00:39:52.27
Bill
Yeah, you start.

00:39:52.72
Mike
Yeah.

00:39:53.18
Bill
I mean, that's that's like taking this this 60 and like quadrupling at a minimum, you know.

00:39:59.63
Mike
Oh yeah. Right. Yeah. So figure oh yeah what 300 gallons a year.

00:40:08.60
Bill
Yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah.

00:40:09.69
Mike
Right. Yeah.

00:40:11.39
Bill
i mean And that's that's not even, I don't even think that's, i mean that is not an exaggeration for the for the end of what I know I was doing.

00:40:17.71
Mike
No.

00:40:20.08
Mike
Oh, yeah. No, definitely. Right.

00:40:22.95
Bill
And I'm just like, I'm like, wow. Cause you know, when I first looked at it, I'm like, like goddamn 60 gallons. That's not a lot of fun. And i I start doing the math. I'm like, I'm like, wow, that's, that's, that's fucking nothing.

00:40:29.56
Mike
That's not really that much. Right.

00:40:34.36
Bill
Fucking nothing. But again, what did you say that by a certain point you drank all of everyone's and some of theirs and yours and yeah there you go.

00:40:40.20
Mike
Mm. Oh, right. Yeah. My lifetime supply. Right. Yeah. Right. I drank my lifetime supply by the time I was 24 and I didn't get sober till I was 42. So, right. I took somebody else's share.

00:40:53.52
Bill
Yeah, I know it was just I don't know it it blew it kind of blew my mind ah because again, the states were a little bit weird. But um but then the again, the the the amount that I'm like, fuck, man, I don't know. I don't know if I should be proud of that or or just be like, God damn, I'm grateful. I'm still alive.

00:41:12.17
Mike
Yeah, exactly. Right. Yeah. Definitely grateful and definitely a little proud.

00:41:17.20
Bill
Yeah, I'm like, yeah, you fucking amateurs on on average.

00:41:17.70
Mike
Yeah.

00:41:19.44
Bill
you know We're like three to four times.

00:41:21.75
Mike
Yep.

00:41:23.16
Bill
Guess what? We live to fucking tell about it too. Had a great time at certain points.

00:41:26.22
Mike
you Yeah.

00:41:27.60
Bill
At certain points.

00:41:27.73
Mike
Right. Sometimes, sometimes we had some really fucking awful times.

00:41:32.25
Bill
Yeah, if it that is that is ah that a true statement.

00:41:37.57
Bill
All right, so um on that note, Mike, what do you think?

00:41:39.62
Mike
Yeah.

00:41:40.21
Bill
Shall shall we?

00:41:42.17
Mike
Well, we'll be back with more math problems right after these words from our sponsor.

00:41:55.26
Bill
all right everyone welcome back and uh i think i'm done with math for the night so

00:42:01.03
Mike
All right. Well, okay. So Johnny has three beers and Billy has 14 beers.

00:42:08.51
Bill
That reminds me of the, uh, the beam that I just posted it not too long ago where the guy's like, okay, you got this beard, you got 10 and you take two waiting. He goes, what do you, what do you have left? And he goes, it's like, you think you have a drinking problem.

00:42:19.83
Mike
Right.

00:42:21.77
Bill
He's like, no, that's not the point. And he's like, I still think you should seek counseling.

00:42:24.95
Mike
Right. I really need to talk to somebody.

00:42:29.62
Bill
ah so Okay, just just a couple of real quick things here. so um I told you, if you joined us last week, ah you know I lost power for you know three and a half hours and that that is what it is.

00:42:41.00
Bill
so I'm sitting here on Wednesday and I always turn my computer on like a half hour before. just I do it on purpose ever since I've ever worked remote. um Make sure everything fires up. There's no updates, anything like that.

00:42:49.98
Mike
chair right Sure.

00:42:51.20
Bill
I'm just being a responsible employee. right I don't log in I can't like I used to be able to before kind of catch up on some work I can't clock in until like four minutes before because it rolls for all that stuff so get everything all set and I sit down and Again the radio show I'm listening to I'm listening through my phone and all sudden it stops and I look at my phone I'm trying to do whatever because you listen to the two-minute app right every once in a while it just it'll glitch you know and

00:43:16.08
Mike
and Okay, I actually don't use that when I use iHeart, but go ahead.

00:43:19.25
Bill
Oh, okay. I thought you thought you used to tune it every once in a while. Okay. But, um but anyhow, so it'll glitch every once in a while, and just for whatever reason, so I'll i'll end up having to go to their website and listen live through there. um But it's nothing's working. And all of a sudden, I realized it's, you know, I get this pop up on my phone, it's like, oh, you're not connected to Wi Fi. And I look at my computer, and I'm in I'm down now to like, like three minutes before I'm supposed to like clock in.

00:43:41.21
Mike
Yeah.

00:43:41.49
Bill
And I'm like, what the fuck? And then I see the, you know, the internet thing go out, you know, so I got the ethernet cable plugged in that goes out. So I go out real quick and I reset the modem and the router and I'm like, okay, something whatever comes back up.

00:43:54.37
Bill
Nothing. And um I clock in from my phone, which I never do. Cause I'm like, hopefully this shit just comes back up. Cause I'm again, I'm thinking back.

00:43:59.85
Mike
Mm-hmm, right.

00:44:00.59
Bill
I'm like, I was just down for fucking three and a half hours last week, you know? um So as I'm sitting here, nothing's working, and I restart, and I text my boss, I'm like, oh, my internet glitched. I'm like, it was fine, but I'm restarting my browser.

00:44:12.52
Bill
So I messaged the guy, and I'm like, hey, did you get any notifications? Because Kathy will every once in a while if her internet goes out.

00:44:18.13
Mike
Mm-hmm, yeah, right, yeah.

00:44:21.09
Bill
um And up you know I don't hear from them, it's like five minutes, I'm like, fuck it, sometimes through the app, you can actually call the host, their phone number's hooked in, you can click and runs through them. So at this point then, this thing pops up on on one of the, on my web browser, and it says, oh, you're getting this screen because of one of these three reasons, either you're um your account just went on vacation, which people do, you're signed up for video only, or you need to make a payment, and it's highlighted on, you need to make a payment, okay?

00:44:35.76
Mike
Mmhmm.

00:44:50.18
Bill
and I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? you know So I call the guy, the guy's name's Joel, and I'm like, yeah, this bill asks for road property, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, did you get any notifications to get my message? No.

00:45:00.99
Bill
I said, the internet went out, and I said, this thing just popped up here. And he's like, he's like oh, he goes, well, let me let me take a give me a couple of minutes. I'll take a look at it. He goes, maybe I just need to pay the bill.

00:45:09.40
Mike
ah

00:45:09.54
Bill
And I'm like, in my head, I'm like, are you fucking kidding me?

00:45:10.26
Mike
she

00:45:13.30
Bill
And he goes, let me I'll check on it right away, and I'll let you know. I said, please, because I said, you know um obviously, this is affecting my work. you know

00:45:18.42
Mike
Yeah.

00:45:19.17
Bill
So um I'm just sitting here and I'm waiting, I'm waiting. Finally, he fucking messaged me back and he's like, oh yeah, they had ah had an old card on file.

00:45:24.54
Mike
Aha.

00:45:28.24
Bill
So they did, they shut down, they fucking shut off the internet, you know?

00:45:30.82
Mike
Right, yeah.

00:45:32.03
Bill
And now two things. I'm like, okay, if you're on automatic payments, and there are some things that I'm on ah automatic payments with, like, um you know, the, if, and I've had it happen, either I've i've switched cards, because I get these rewards cards, I try to flip things around, and you know, cards I don't use and whatever.

00:45:39.06
Mike
Sure.

00:45:48.93
Mike
Right.

00:45:49.27
Bill
So I've had something in recently, in the last probably year, it'll pop up and say, hey, your payment failed. Check your payment option.

00:45:54.41
Mike
Right.

00:45:56.02
Bill
They don't shut me down you know on anything I have.

00:45:57.41
Mike
Right. Yeah, right.

00:46:00.23
Bill
you know It's not immediate. So so finally, i mean it's ah all said and done is 25 fucking minutes. And because the guy's like, oh, he goes, yeah, they said it should be up shortly. And I said, I hope so. I said, this is affecting my job.

00:46:11.55
Mike
Right.

00:46:11.99
Bill
you know and I'm just like again I'm sitting here I'm trying not to not to I was pissed you know clearly because okay here's the deal and I mean I don't know if you if you if you're a little fucking I don't know whatever you are you know absent-minded let's say you don't think set up or maybe you just don't feel like paying your bills if you're a fucking Airbnb host should you at least make sure those bills are paid

00:46:16.08
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:46:27.04
Mike
Sure.

00:46:34.06
Mike
Right.

00:46:35.77
Bill
And then i'm like I'm like, oh God, did he not pay the, then I'm like, now the power was, it was all in the area. So that, that wasn't a matter of him not paying that bill.

00:46:42.94
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:46:44.50
Bill
But I'm just like, are you, i there was such, I, it never occurred to me. So do I need to ask hosts from now on, by the way, do you pay your internet bill on time? yeah I don't think that's sarcasm, but, um, but again, you know, fucking 25 minutes, I'm fucking internet's down.

00:46:55.01
Mike
Right.

00:46:59.12
Bill
I'm like, you fucking knob.

00:47:00.81
Mike
Yeah, exactly.

00:47:01.16
Bill
You know, so it was just.

00:47:02.84
Mike
Yeah. I mean, it's funny, man. I was thinking, it I mean, I, right. I have very little on automatic payment just cause I like to be in control.

00:47:12.85
Bill
Right.

00:47:12.90
Mike
Um, you know, imagine that an alcoholic has control issues.

00:47:16.10
Bill
Right.

00:47:16.73
Mike
Um, you know, but I do have a couple of things, but I mean, literally like to my car insurance and, um, Oh, my, uh, the float thing, because they make you do that automatically.

00:47:27.25
Mike
But everything everything everything else is I pay it myself.

00:47:27.36
Bill
right

00:47:31.88
Mike
and um Yeah, about shit, maybe three years ago, i I thought I had paid my cable bill and didn't. And um I mean, it was probably two weeks overdue. And I went to, I was gonna buy a movie, which I don't do very often or rent a movie. I don't very often, but you know I was like, eh, there's nothing on, I feel like watching this. So I went to, you know, you know click,

00:47:58.66
Mike
and it went you can't because your **** bills in the rear and I went what really but but okay so it was two weeks and my internet was working my cable was working it was all working I just had forgotten to pay it I thought I had and didn't and went to do something I don't normally do and went oh **** and immediately went and paid my bill and it was all fine but yeah right so I mean it happens I understand it once in eleven twelve years I for I was late I thought I paid it and didn't

00:48:11.71
Bill
Right.

00:48:22.78
Bill
Right.

00:48:28.24
Mike
oh But yeah, that's that's just that's fucked up No,

00:48:32.10
Bill
Yeah. I mean, they don't, they don't, these, these places, they don't want to shut your service down. They don't, you know, and they, they will give you time.

00:48:37.18
Mike
right Yeah

00:48:38.75
Bill
They'll notify you to do this and they'll pop, you know, whatever it is.

00:48:41.47
Mike
I mean, shit, most of them don't even, I mean, like my gas and my electric and whatever, sometimes I will pay a week late just cause it works out that way.

00:48:41.70
Bill
So yeah. but Right.

00:48:48.21
Mike
It's like, eh, you know, I, I, I'm not getting paid. Everything else needs to be paid first or whatever. So I'll be a week late. And I mean, I don't even get notices for that shit.

00:48:58.96
Bill
Right.

00:48:58.93
Mike
So, I mean, this must've been close to a month. He was behind.

00:49:03.84
Bill
Oh yeah, to to finally shut off, yeah.

00:49:05.49
Mike
Yeah.

00:49:05.60
Bill
it had to have been It had to have been rolling into a new billing cycle, you know, cause they, you know, cause usually they'll roll over.

00:49:09.30
Mike
Yeah, exactly.

00:49:12.59
Bill
They'll sometimes even, and I can't even think of the last time I would have, I mean, I know it might, my cell phone, you know, you can, you can take your cell phone bill and, you know, move up the due date on it, but I mean, you can move it up.

00:49:19.15
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:49:22.42
Mike
Sure.

00:49:24.25
Bill
If you miss it, they'll be all, they'll be all the fuck over you, you know?

00:49:24.40
Mike
Yeah.

00:49:26.66
Mike
Yeah, right.

00:49:27.18
Bill
And I've had that happen before where I forget what it was. Same type of thing where I forgot. I just, I thought I paid it, you know, whatever it was.

00:49:32.23
Mike
Yeah, right.

00:49:34.02
Bill
and you know I just it was it was just so I'm like really I'm like fuck that I'm like a I just I just want to go now I just want to fucking go with here's the thing so this place has been fine the bed is um oh the fucking dog next door every night about 12 30 or one in the morning the dog next door barks and wakes me up so yeah that's been great

00:49:40.77
Mike
Right.

00:49:50.72
Mike
Hmm. Uh-huh.

00:49:55.44
Bill
um But you know the the bed, a little uncomfortable, I explained all that. The rest of it's fine, it's calm, it's peaceful. um My point of being here was going down to the the New River Gorge, going to see the things I did.

00:50:05.18
Mike
Right.

00:50:06.23
Bill
So um this place was just a place I was able to work, then except for that.

00:50:09.66
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:50:10.68
Bill
you know i mean that's That's kind of a big deal. The power was not his fault. you know That happens.

00:50:14.16
Mike
Right.

00:50:15.85
Bill
um But other than that, i mean it's it it is what it is. i mean It was fine. you know But um i don't know just you get some little thing like that then it's again we talked about trust you know last last week and so i just kind of felt uneasy i'm like well i know the bills paid now at least i think it is right yeah i mean it's it's it's been working but i'm just like i just i just want to get the fuck out of here but it's it was nice i mean

00:50:25.17
Mike
Yeah. Right.

00:50:31.15
Mike
Right. Yeah. At least some of it.

00:50:40.99
Bill
Again, all in all, there was nothing wrong with that. Oh, but real quick, when I was down at the, the I think it was a, yeah, it was, it was the last trail I went on. And nine times out of 10, when I parked my car, I mean, I just pull my car into a spot, I don't back it or anything like that, any place.

00:50:54.91
Bill
And a lot of times when I'm coming back to my car, I'm coming back from wherever and I'm coming up on the back of my car and get my car and go on.

00:51:02.45
Mike
Right.

00:51:02.76
Bill
So this time when I came off the trail, it was a loop, it came around where my car was parked, I was coming to the front of it, cut across this area. And I'm walking up and I'm looking, it was on the passenger side front bumper, like right hand side.

00:51:16.98
Bill
Like what the what the fuck is, like something's hanging on off the bottom of my car. I'm like, what the fuck is that? I thought I, you know, again, shrub, tree, whatever, stick hanging down. And I walk up and it's my my entire turn signal assembly is hanging down.

00:51:31.94
Mike
Oh.

00:51:33.27
Bill
The entire thing, just hanging off my bumper, you know? So the my turn signals are in my bumper.

00:51:37.01
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:51:39.78
Bill
passenger side front and literally it's it's just hanging out it's not hitting the ground but it's just it's hanging and i'm like what the fuck so i look and i could see a little piece in there that that broke but but i'm like i didn't i didn't bump anything didn't hit anything um you know i went i'm like a couple of these places you know you drive and you bump around and i'm like i didn't hit anything right

00:51:44.21
Mike
Yeah, right.

00:51:57.23
Mike
All right.

00:51:59.46
Bill
So I couldn't figure it out, but I mean, thankfully, again, I carry around our books. I carry around some of the shit. So I've got packing tape.

00:52:06.30
Mike
Uh huh.

00:52:06.72
Bill
So I put it back in there. It works.

00:52:08.88
Mike
All right.

00:52:09.15
Bill
You know, it's didn't rip anything out um and just taped it, taped it in.

00:52:13.10
Mike
All right.

00:52:15.07
Bill
So, but I got to, I got to order one. I was like, I'll wait till I get back by Kathy said order one. And then, you know, I guess I can get someplace where I could just actually get under it and fix it.

00:52:22.88
Mike
Right.

00:52:23.86
Bill
But then I'm like, I, I don't know when the fuck it happened. Then it clicked. I was coming down and I'm hoping, not that it really matters, but I think it was because this would have been Sunday.

00:52:34.02
Bill
I think it was Sunday when I was driving down there. Again, hour and a half drive. I'm on the highway behind somebody. Again, not right up on somebody's ass for or anything like that, two, three car links.

00:52:42.58
Mike
Hmm.

00:52:43.82
Bill
But um again, what do you call the retreads that come off of the trucks? the

00:52:47.68
Mike
Oh yeah. Yeah. Gators.

00:52:49.50
Bill
skaters. There you go. So, one of those. So, this car ran over. It kicked it up. It came at me. I couldn't get out of the way and it it hit the front of my car and underneath.

00:52:54.70
Mike
Right. Hmm.

00:52:57.53
Bill
So, I'm like, that's what did it because when it when it hit it, it probably pushed the bumper in just enough to so because there's a little piece that it clicks into.

00:52:58.98
Mike
Yep.

00:53:05.56
Bill
It just snapped the piece and I'm sure going wherever I did finally popped out but I don't know how how long I was driving with it like **** hanging out

00:53:07.25
Mike
Yep. Yeah.

00:53:14.67
Mike
Well, at least you're in West Virginia, so you'll fit right in.

00:53:14.81
Bill
but

00:53:17.89
Bill
Right, yeah, and i again, driving down to to grab my pizza tonight, I'm looking around, I'm like, yeah, this is fucking countryhood, it really is. Again, not I don't feel i don't feel you know it's unsafe or or anything like that.

00:53:28.58
Mike
Sure.

00:53:29.35
Bill
It's not like I've been outside at night, because I have, you know, hang outside at night, hit my vape or whatever, and and you don't hear weird shit going on or and no problems, you know?

00:53:37.16
Mike
Right.

00:53:37.48
Bill
um But it is, it's it's fucking, it's country hood. That's exactly what the fuck it is. But, um no, really, I had a nice time. It's just that, yeah, that, i keep I keep looking at my car.

00:53:44.90
Mike
Yeah.

00:53:47.01
Bill
I mean, I get scrapes on my bumpers and shit like that. I'm driving up and down these fucking things. I'm like, whatever, whenever I get to the point where I'm gonna run this fucking thing into the ground, or which i've never I've never done with a car.

00:53:53.66
Mike
Mm

00:53:57.35
Bill
I've never had a car long enough to do that.

00:53:57.90
Mike
hmm.

00:53:59.30
Bill
um Usually, I mean, as a good alcoholic, I bought cars that were already running into the ground.

00:54:04.01
Mike
Right.

00:54:06.27
Bill
and I just kept them as long as they would run, but I don't know. it's It's one of those things.

00:54:10.22
Mike
Nope.

00:54:10.84
Bill
it It kind of is what it is, but I still like the car. It runs. It just has a couple of shit falling off here and there.

00:54:16.79
Mike
he

00:54:18.28
Bill
But yeah, you're right. I fit in. So, all right. So speaking of of Mark Merritt, did you listen to... Uh, I don't know who his newest one is, but there was two episodes, um, I think last Thursday and Monday, um, Keith Urban and then Robert Patrick.

00:54:29.58
Mike
Uh huh. Yeah.

00:54:36.25
Bill
Do you know who Robert Patrick is?

00:54:37.54
Mike
Yeah. Terminator.

00:54:38.81
Bill
Yeah. And I didn't, the name didn't click right away, but as soon as I saw it, I'm like, Oh, I got to listen to this motherfucker. Did you list?

00:54:43.81
Mike
Cleveland guy.

00:54:45.17
Bill
Yeah. He, when he was talking about that, I, I didn't know that.

00:54:47.00
Mike
Yeah. Yeah.

00:54:47.61
Bill
Or if I knew that, I forgot it, you know?

00:54:48.88
Mike
And it's brothers in that band, uh, filter. Right.

00:54:51.98
Bill
Yep, yeah, he talked, i like I didn't fucking know that either.

00:54:54.00
Mike
okay

00:54:55.03
Bill
Because yeah, he was telling Mark at the end, he's like, yeah, baby you you you got to have my brother in here, you because she got to have my brother in here.

00:54:59.06
Mike
Right.

00:55:00.70
Bill
But um did you listen to either one of those?

00:55:01.80
Mike
Nope.

00:55:03.49
Bill
Okay, so both of them are sober, which I also didn't know.

00:55:06.13
Mike
Oh, yeah.

00:55:07.12
Bill
um Robert Patrick, 28 years, which fucking blew my mind.

00:55:09.10
Mike
Hmm. Yeah.

00:55:11.61
Bill
um But he got sober um to film the Terminator, because he knew he couldn't he couldn't do the things he had to do, the physical um work that he had to do, doing what he was doing, you know?

00:55:15.27
Mike
Ah.

00:55:18.70
Mike
Sure.

00:55:21.71
Mike
Right.

00:55:22.26
Bill
So they had a nice talk about that. Keith Urban has been sober for 18 years.

00:55:26.05
Mike
Huh.

00:55:27.44
Bill
No fucking idea, right?

00:55:28.65
Mike
Right.

00:55:28.99
Bill
and he's And I forgot, he was married to Nicole Kidman.

00:55:31.42
Mike
Oh yeah. I was going to say, yeah, he gets to fuck Nicole Kidman. So they talk about promises, man.

00:55:36.33
Bill
yeah But that that reminded, well, because Mark brought it up when he was doing the promo for it, that during ah COVID, he would he had Nicole on and ah Keith was in the background helping her get her shit set up.

00:55:41.97
Mike
Hmm.

00:55:49.10
Mike
Ah.

00:55:49.72
Bill
So um he's like, he's like, hey, he goes, you're Keith Urban, you're some stupid shit like that.

00:55:54.21
Mike
Right.

00:55:54.83
Bill
um But so yeah, so you know, that's what if I guess better him but um, I'm not a country guy I know you sure as fuck or not.

00:55:59.82
Mike
Right. Nope.

00:56:00.68
Bill
Okay, but he didn't really talk um He talked about how he made it into who he was.

00:56:06.31
Mike
Mm hmm.

00:56:07.67
Bill
Okay? I'm not really country-based in my opinion. It's kind of like if somebody didn't didn't like you know Judas priests, but they list they would could enjoy the Rob Halford book that type of mindset and Same deal.

00:56:18.70
Mike
Sure. Right.

00:56:21.79
Bill
I think that you would enjoy the conversation.

00:56:23.87
Mike
Right.

00:56:24.02
Bill
They had a, him and Robert Patrick had a great fucking back and forth.

00:56:26.61
Mike
Hmm.

00:56:27.64
Bill
And Mark even said, he goes, he had nothing to promote. He just said, he goes, we met at fucking airport.

00:56:31.49
Mike
All right.

00:56:31.90
Bill
So I just went to the airport and he wanted to come on. He goes, the only thing he wants me to talk about is the fact that he's a partner in a dealership, a Harley dealership. yeah um But yeah, Keith Urban was just, it was great.

00:56:38.84
Mike
ah Hey.

00:56:42.43
Bill
It was fucking great.

00:56:42.92
Mike
move right

00:56:43.94
Bill
Both of them were, I was just kind of blown. I had no idea that both of them were we're sober, so.

00:56:48.42
Mike
Well, it kind of goes back to our reading man being open to, you know, right. Learning new things, you know, something that you might not think would interest you. And, you know, as some country dude and some guy that did a movie fucking 30 years ago, that was kind of okay.

00:56:56.60
Bill
Mm hmm.

00:57:03.03
Mike
Right.

00:57:05.61
Bill
Yeah, so the the the one, as soon as I saw in kind of click to Robert Patrick was, so he was in, he was on Sons of Anarchy, which I watched.

00:57:12.86
Mike
and Okay.

00:57:13.17
Bill
He was in The Sopranos, played an excellent character in The Sopranos, which I know we haven't seen, but there's, I mean, i and then the Terminator thing was cool enough in it in its day, ah but The Sopranos, his character, and he talks about that you know a little bit, a great character, a fucking great character.

00:57:17.66
Mike
Right.

00:57:21.61
Mike
Uh-huh.

00:57:27.40
Mike
so

00:57:28.79
Bill
but um yeah really really really interesting guy in keith urban i was just again interest the hell out of me i was just like god damn i'm sitting here listening to these guys i'm like these guys are fucking awesome but yeah to your point i when i saw keith urban i'm like i don't need to listen to some fucking country you know fucking hacey motherfucker but i'm like oh yeah there you go open up my mind right but yeah it was uh it was good i think i think you'd enjoy both of them so

00:57:34.85
Mike
Right. Right. Right.

00:57:48.34
Mike
right

00:57:53.79
Mike
Yeah, right. I mean, I saw both of those listed cause I checked to see, you know, um, yeah, who's got, but I seriously, I don't listen like I used to listen cause I, you know, work is different.

00:58:04.38
Bill
Right.

00:58:06.36
Mike
It's not like I'm spending eight, nine hours a day just driving like I used to. So yeah, I don't get to listen to podcasts the way I used to anymore, but yeah, if I get the option, I will check them out.

00:58:17.83
Bill
Yeah. And that's a, it's the same way with me is that, uh, I mean, I listened to most of these things, like I don't even do it all the time, but I, I'll listen to, um, a podcast while I'm making dinner, you know, and then when I'm, when I'm cleaning up, cause I mean, I've, I've actually had to wash fucking dishes for the past five weeks.

00:58:28.57
Mike
Right.

00:58:33.21
Mike
Right.

00:58:34.69
Bill
So I've got, uh, you know, I've got time, you know, making dinner and then cleaning up stuff, um, is in what I'm driving.

00:58:38.36
Mike
right

00:58:39.87
Bill
But, oh, um, did you hear that Alex Van Halen has got a book out now called brothers?

00:58:43.84
Mike
Yeah.

00:58:44.46
Bill
yeah so um and I've got that set up I'm gonna get the Pacino book but I thought my credit would re-up today on the first ah but it doesn't but the I read the review on the Alex Van Halen when I think we're gonna get that one first and then get the Pacino one the second one but I heard it's supposed to be a good book so

00:58:49.31
Mike
Yeah.

00:58:55.69
Mike
yeah

00:58:59.91
Mike
Yeah. Right.

00:59:00.84
Bill
But it's yeah, it's on Audible, so I'm gonna listen to that one next. But but anyhow, so the other thing that in, you know obviously speaking of again, November and all that stuff and the 11th step, it crossed my mind the other day um about the 11th step.

00:59:03.16
Mike
Hmm.

00:59:14.02
Bill
and i'll And I'll tell you why I would like to talk about it a little bit, give me your opinion.

00:59:15.14
Mike
Right.

00:59:17.83
Bill
But um the more and more I was thinking about it as I was you know kind of as you know easing up to this month and then even the readings today is that

00:59:25.50
Mike
right

00:59:26.24
Bill
I feel sometimes that it at least even to this day a little bit, it's probably the most confusing or I didn't want to say confusing. I wrote down the word mysterious step.

00:59:35.45
Mike
Hmm.

00:59:36.05
Bill
Um when you when you first go through it, but even sometimes just in general because you know, it's as you know, this whole sought through prayer and medication improve our conscious.

00:59:43.92
Mike
Medication?

00:59:45.15
Bill
Can I say medication?

00:59:46.08
Mike
You did?

00:59:47.06
Bill
I apologize. Okay, see

00:59:48.38
Mike
That's old behavior. I used to so i used to seek through medication. Didn't work very well.

00:59:56.26
Bill
yes ah years ago I sought through prayer medication so let me let me start over folks see here this is me being raw being open see professionals might edit that out but we're not going to all right sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious conscious and

00:59:59.90
Mike
hey

01:00:11.44
Mike
Yes. Are conscious conscious?

01:00:14.48
Bill
and Jesus Christ, our conscious contact with God as we understand him, of course, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.

01:00:19.81
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:00:23.84
Bill
So, um, I, I don't know.

01:00:24.07
Mike
Right.

01:00:26.32
Bill
I mean, I think I do that. It is. It just, when I really try to think about it, it's kind of confusing. So how do you do that? You know, it's like, how do you, how do you do in work?

01:00:33.13
Mike
please

01:00:36.16
Bill
Um, step 11. I mean, seriously, from your mindset, how do you look at that? Or does it just happen?

01:00:41.51
Mike
I mean, um, right. Well, you got to remember, I'm not approaching it the way most drunks and junkies approach it.

01:00:51.48
Bill
Right.

01:00:51.60
Mike
Um, cause most of them, you know, believe in something. Um, yeah watching a lot of Richie, Rick, Ricky Gervais, easy for me to say clips online. Um, funny dude and smart, but anyway, um, yes.

01:01:04.34
Bill
Right.

01:01:06.09
Mike
um ah coming at it as an atheist, ah yes, through prayer and meditation, which um I, you know, clearly we've talked about, you know, this atheist praise twice a day, because it's an action that they told me to take. So I take that action um to prove my conscious contact with a power greater than myself.

01:01:28.97
Mike
um You know, I do, I take the time to consciously think about, you know, power is greater than myself every day. Um, mostly yeah and the morning and at night, pretty much when I'm taking that action of that thing that I don't think I need, well, I know I need to, but, um, yes, I think is, um, I almost said worthless, but of course it's not, it has worth because clearly it's doing something for me.

01:01:59.04
Bill
Great.

01:01:59.14
Mike
Um, Yes, ah to improve my contact with it. um You know, I've talked about plenty of times. I mean, Alcoholics Anonymous is a power greater than myself. um And so I do think about that. I do, which is a form of meditation.

01:02:16.73
Mike
um I don't know. it's it's it's Again, it's it's the same thing I do. I work the 11th step kind of the way I do my prayers and I do my meditations, my readings. um I do them because they told me to do them. And I know I get some sort of benefit out of it. And um kind of like the reading, you know I get more freedom and more choices by doing it, by putting thoughts in my head that aren't mine.

01:02:45.61
Mike
um And that's how it works for me. I don't know. I mean, I work it because it's, it's a step and I have to work it. Um, I don't know. I don't know. And it doesn't matter that I know.

01:02:57.36
Mike
I don't need to know. I just need to do it.

01:03:00.07
Bill
Right.

01:02:59.99
Mike
You know, I don't need to feel it in my heart. I don't need to believe it with all my soul. I just need to fucking do it. And I do it. And I guess it, it, it does.

01:03:11.26
Mike
Yeah. Well, I know it works. Um, And, uh, because it works, I guess it does give me more understanding. Um, but it's a slow process and it's a, it's a process. It's going to have to happen forever. And, um, you know, yeah, I mean, that's it. I work the step because it's a step that I need to work and I don't know why. And it doesn't matter that I know or don't know. I just, I do it.

01:03:41.58
Bill
Right, and you know what?

01:03:41.51
Mike
and Because I do it it fucking works I get the results whatever they happen to be and I don't even understand those Right Right

01:03:48.44
Bill
And honestly, that's, and I wasn't really, literally when I was, when I was reading this, I wasn't thinking so much about the fact that, you know, you as an atheist and me at best agnostic, you know, I wasn't really thinking about it that way ah again, until I started ah reading the words. Cause what I did, I did copy and paste and, you know, put it on there so I could, cause I don't, I don't always remember these things word for word, which again, that is what it is. But, um,

01:04:12.94
Bill
But as I'm doing that, I'm like, again, prayer and medication.

01:04:16.31
Mike
Right.

01:04:17.51
Bill
Then I'm like, conscious, just conscious. I'm like, oh the fuck, what's wrong with you?

01:04:19.91
Mike
he Keep coming back.

01:04:21.67
Bill
But you know, same thing. God, as you understand him, I know. You know, praying for knowledge of his will for us, blah, blah, blah. But that's what I just underlined as you were talking, is will for us and the power to carry that out.

01:04:32.29
Bill
Because out of all of these bullshit words that are within those those two, so or that long sentence, that run-on sentence,

01:04:35.90
Mike
Mhm. Mhm.

01:04:39.90
Bill
is that's the most important part. I mean, I think for based on what you and I talk about, we realize that it's not our will something, something else's will.

01:04:47.10
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:04:49.56
Mike
Right?

01:04:49.86
Bill
And we are given whatever power to carry that out. I mean, is that that's like the last part of it.

01:04:53.05
Mike
Right. Absolutely. Yeah, right.

01:04:55.40
Bill
Okay.

01:04:55.78
Mike
I mean, in a very practical sense, again, I always use Alcoholics Anonymous as a power greater than myself.

01:05:02.74
Bill
Right.

01:05:02.87
Mike
What does Alcoholics Anonymous's will for me? You know, it's to stay sober, to help another drunk, to do, you know, again, yeah. So, I mean, it works. it's Again, i in the context of me being an atheist, it fucking still works if I work it.

01:05:17.44
Mike
Imagine that.

01:05:18.67
Bill
Right.

01:05:19.23
Mike
Yeah. So, you know, um yeah. and It's, it's written out. It's the way it is. Work the fucking step and you get the results.

01:05:29.02
Bill
Right.

01:05:28.94
Mike
Even if it's not the conventional way or even the intent of it or whatever, it's still, it's still, it is the intent of it. It works no matter what your power greater than yourself is, whatever your higher power or whatever your God, your, your fucking, whatever it is, it works if you work it.

01:05:47.36
Bill
Right and you're worth it. Yay Let's hug But um but yeah, so the and but even the first part of it so prayer and and you know, we both talked about it You know, we both will go to prayers our so our own set of in our our process of whatever they are doesn't fucking matter they're ours and then you know the meditation part we figured out that if worst-case scenario neither one of us sit down again candles cross-legged Ohm the whole shit um but

01:05:49.12
Mike
Yeah. are

01:05:56.53
Mike
Mm hmm. Right. Mm hmm. Right. Yep.

01:06:13.43
Mike
Right.

01:06:15.71
Bill
we both take time in the morning to do the reading to roll other peop around in our heads.

01:06:16.45
Mike
Yep. ye

01:06:21.07
Bill
I sti my favorite sayings of yo our quarter, little quarter place and rolling somebo thoughts around in my he said that and I don't kn here or you probably said it long before that but

01:06:21.90
Mike
he

01:06:26.04
Mike
Yup.

01:06:29.06
Mike
and Oh yeah. I mean, I used to use it in group. Yeah.

01:06:35.20
Bill
Did you, okay, I couldn't remember, um but when whenever you said it, I've loved it from the start because it it is literally what it is.

01:06:35.85
Mike
Yeah.

01:06:39.70
Mike
Hmm.

01:06:41.64
Bill
um I am, it's it's somebody else's, I sit down every fucking morning regardless of, we've talked about this, it doesn't matter where we are, who we're with, bob bla blah, blah, blah, how tired we are, or you know when i when I did mine two weeks ago and you know ah literally at two in the morning, I i was up again.

01:06:41.93
Mike
Yeah.

01:06:45.26
Mike
Yup.

01:06:49.28
Mike
Hmm.

01:06:56.56
Mike
Right now.

01:06:59.22
Bill
here's Here's a side note on that, okay? So when when I wanted to leave, I'm like, I want to leave by 3 a.m., okay? And I'm like, I'm not not getting up, by I'm not doing my normal routine.

01:07:10.78
Bill
I'm just not gonna take me fucking two and a half or three hours to get out of here.

01:07:11.00
Mike
Right.

01:07:14.09
Bill
um I had all my shit packed up, certain amount of time to do that, but I'm like, you know, I said, I think what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna technically, I only slept for, this is how I'm rationalizing myself before I try to go to bed, right?

01:07:25.37
Mike
Right.

01:07:26.31
Bill
I'm like, basically, I'm just taking a long nap. so It's really not the next day yet.

01:07:28.96
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:07:30.46
Bill
so I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to get up and I'm going to drive.

01:07:30.82
Mike
Sure.

01:07:33.64
Bill
and Then at 8 or 9 o'clock, maybe 7 or 8, I'm going to stop and I'm going to do my readings and my prayers. and Then, within like literally, I brush my teeth. I'm like, that's fucked up.

01:07:43.58
Mike
Yup, that's not gonna work.

01:07:43.93
Bill
I can't do that. cause i'm ah Because I'm like, I'm out in the world. I had to deal with people.

01:07:48.24
Mike
Yeah. Yup.

01:07:49.86
Bill
Whether I took a short, a long nap or whatever it is, I'm like, I'm doing my readings at fucking two in the morning is when I'm doing them.

01:07:52.44
Mike
Mm-hmm.

01:07:56.00
Mike
Yup. Yeah.

01:07:57.58
Bill
And that's what I did. But it was so fucking funny in my head because I got to laughing about it. I'm like, that's fucked up in a good way.

01:08:05.18
Mike
Yeah.

01:08:05.98
Bill
Because I couldn't leave and actually do human being things.

01:08:10.00
Mike
but Exactly.

01:08:12.13
Bill
Like drive a car and be out in the world.

01:08:13.92
Mike
see

01:08:14.30
Bill
um Even though nobody else is fucking out, I'm like, I can't do this until I get my shit right, you know?

01:08:16.76
Mike
yeah You never know. Right. I mean, you get right yeah at four in the morning, you may have to go into a gas station to take a piss and grab a cup of coffee and you're going to interact with the person behind the counter.

01:08:24.30
Bill
And I, yeah.

01:08:27.44
Mike
And if you haven't done your shit yet, it's not going to go well.

01:08:31.12
Bill
Yeah, and I.

01:08:31.16
Mike
You know, it might, it might, but it might not.

01:08:35.10
Bill
Yeah, and i and i did I did all those things. you know Two, three hours into the trip, I stopped and it's exactly what you what you said.

01:08:38.30
Mike
but sir Sure.

01:08:40.14
Bill
you know so um But but that's that's the thing though.

01:08:40.34
Mike
Yeah.

01:08:43.34
Bill
so So back to that is I had to get these, like we talk about, it it is. that is um That's my form, if anything. I don't meditate, but that's my form.

01:08:53.21
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:08:53.48
Bill
And I think you've kind of said the same thing, almost like ah your form of meditation.

01:08:54.97
Mike
Yeah. Nope.

01:08:57.09
Bill
um So we do that every day and then all that we all that we need to know beyond that is that last part You know some something or somebody else's will for us somebody something whatever um And we need to really yeah, it's not ours and we're asking for the strength and the power to to carry that shit out daily.

01:09:05.89
Mike
Yeah. Uh huh. Not ours. Yep.

01:09:13.84
Bill
That's it

01:09:14.09
Mike
Yep. Yep.

01:09:15.21
Bill
You know, so um literally it's just the, I, the more I thought about it, it was as we were talking, that's why I wanted to talk about it because I tried to throw a little bit of sense behind the 11th step the other day when I started thinking about it.

01:09:18.81
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:09:27.22
Bill
I'm like, I can't, let's just talk about it.

01:09:28.16
Mike
Right.

01:09:30.07
Bill
So I'm like, I don't know. I'm like, I don't know how I did this fucking 14 and a half years ago because I don't, I don't get it now. You know, I don't understand it, but to your point, we don't have to.

01:09:35.62
Mike
Right.

01:09:38.25
Mike
Right. Yeah. Acceptance, man. Surrender to the fact that I don't fucking know and I don't fucking care.

01:09:43.28
Bill
yeah

01:09:44.77
Mike
Right.

01:09:45.05
Bill
if

01:09:45.56
Mike
It's beautiful. Just doesn't matter as the great Bill Murray screamed in meatballs.

01:09:46.85
Bill
Yeah.

01:09:50.53
Bill
Yeah, God.

01:09:50.50
Mike
It just doesn't matter.

01:09:53.56
Bill
but was That movie was so stupid, but so wonderful, so fucking wonderful.

01:09:55.76
Mike
Yup.

01:09:58.76
Bill
I saw that when we were in, um God, were we in, oh yeah, shit, we were in Pittsburgh.

01:10:02.76
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:10:03.34
Bill
Our neighbors across the street had, um was HBO up and out in the early 80s?

01:10:09.63
Mike
Sure. Yeah.

01:10:11.08
Bill
Okay, so I think that's what it was. um His parents had HBO, and I remember sitting in the in his living room and watching it.

01:10:15.11
Mike
Uh huh.

01:10:18.82
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:10:19.08
Bill
um Yeah, it just doesn't matter.

01:10:21.27
Mike
Right.

01:10:21.45
Bill
Just doesn't matter fucking great just fucking great

01:10:22.48
Mike
tis he Yup, and that is my mantra.

01:10:29.77
Bill
But yeah, I mean, seriously, I know I always say, I don't know, maybe I don't, but maybe I should say thank you more, but thank you for actually helping me talk through this with myself.

01:10:37.38
Mike
fifty feet Huh?

01:10:40.75
Bill
I don't know if anyone else got anything out of that, but that actually helped me get this.

01:10:42.62
Mike
Eh?

01:10:44.77
Bill
Seriously, the 11th step, never really, if I tried to think about it, which I did, couldn't figure it out, but no, I get it.

01:10:46.34
Mike
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

01:10:50.97
Bill
I actually underlined a couple of things on here. I'm like, oh, prayer meditation will carry it out.

01:10:55.60
Mike
Yep.

01:10:58.93
Bill
um i I'm smart now.

01:11:01.14
Mike
Right. You have at least one more choice today.

01:11:05.50
Bill
Right, right. um All right, so this one is from Keep It Simple, and I got a note on here, this made me nervous.

01:11:13.12
Mike
All right.

01:11:15.39
Bill
um I'll list any lies I've been telling myself and others lately. So now you can see why it made me nervous when I read it because, well, i won I'm not gonna, what do you think about that, my friend Mike?

01:11:25.07
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:11:29.42
Bill
yeah

01:11:29.83
Mike
Uh, list any lies I've told myself or others lately.

01:11:34.39
Bill
Yeah, that was from it was from keep it it was from keep it simple.

01:11:35.19
Mike
Uh, Hmm. Um, like within the last couple of days, cause okay.

01:11:42.41
Bill
No, probably I don't know when there was this month ago, maybe if I had to guess.

01:11:45.30
Mike
and okay Right. All right. Um, I, you know, it kind of seems like, you know, cause that's one of the ones I read. Um, Yeah, I probably blew past it because guess what?

01:11:57.58
Mike
I really don't lie to myself and I sure as hell don't lie to anybody else today. Um, you know, the danger is I'm going to lie to myself and believe it.

01:12:06.08
Bill
Brian?

01:12:06.04
Mike
Um, I really don't lie to other people cause I don't have to today, which is nice. Um, one of those freedoms and one of those choices I have today, but I i don't have to lie to anyone else today.

01:12:18.44
Mike
Um, Yeah. You know, the danger is lying to myself and believing me it. Cause I did that for so long that, um, it's pretty fucking easy to do. Even after 14 and a half years, I can lie to myself and believe it today. Um, but yeah, I I'm, uh,

01:12:37.08
Mike
I'm not lying to myself today either, which is nice. Um, I'm really not. I'm pretty sure. yeah I mean, you know, maybe I am and I, you know, I don't believe in it. And, um, yeah again, there there is that possibility, but I don't think ah yeah I I'm pretty sure that I live in a very real place today.

01:12:56.30
Mike
Um, I don't have to lie to myself and, you know, because I don't have to lie to others and, um, it's nice. Yeah.

01:13:04.13
Bill
Right?

01:13:05.01
Mike
Yeah.

01:13:06.47
Bill
Yeah, and the the reason, I know the reason it made me nervous was thinking about, um thinking back, you know, to all the all the times I did lie.

01:13:11.73
Mike
Mm. Right.

01:13:14.56
Bill
It's like one of those things where, you know, you, I don't know, when we talk about stories on here or we tell, so you know, hear stories from other people and, you know, or you get in these whatever circumstances that, you know, that make you uncomfortable and things that, you know, kind of make you feel sick to your stomach hearing or remembering, you know, that the things we did.

01:13:14.95
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:13:31.87
Mike
Right.

01:13:32.23
Bill
It was that same type of thing. That's the reason it made me nervous because I was like, first of all, I remember, um you know, trying to, I mean, that this web, I mean, you tell one there one line turns into, you know, four turns into seven turns into, God, what did I tell these people?

01:13:40.09
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:13:45.07
Mike
Sure.

01:13:46.87
Bill
You know, um did I tell this person that thing?

01:13:47.27
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:13:49.85
Bill
What's the truth anymore? yeah I don't know what to say.

01:13:51.22
Mike
Right. Yeah.

01:13:52.83
Bill
You know which is it's again. It's it's so much fucking work. It's so much easier the easier softer way Tell the truth, but um but yeah, I mean there's a I have I still have the inclination especially as shit went wrong You know i'd I'd love to you know tell a story rather than admit admit fault I fucking hate being wrong.

01:13:56.11
Mike
Mm hmm. Yep, out.

01:14:05.25
Mike
Mm hmm. Sure. Yeah. Take the blame. Sure.

01:14:13.72
Bill
I fucking hate it

01:14:13.95
Mike
I know.

01:14:15.95
Bill
i don't like I don't like being wrong. i don't It's the same thing. Why we you know try not to fuck with people these days because we don't want to apologize to anyone.

01:14:18.49
Mike
Mm hmm. That's right.

01:14:24.35
Bill
yeah It's a kind of a fucked up backwards motivation, but it works.

01:14:27.92
Mike
Yeah, it works.

01:14:28.67
Bill
It doesn't matter. Whatever whatever gets us there.

01:14:29.74
Mike
Right. Yeah. Keeps me honest and keeps me yeah keeps my side of the street clean because I don't want to fucking have to clean it up, man. Nope.

01:14:38.48
Bill
But you know, the the funny part too, and this is, I wonder if this was within a couple of days, cause I got another one from Keep It Simple that says, an excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie.

01:14:48.66
Mike
Mm-hmm

01:14:49.54
Bill
So this, these are both from Keep It Simple. And again, I don't know when these was, when these, Jesus Christ, what the fuck?

01:14:53.64
Mike
Wow easier your You sure yeah you struck it out ah I didn't say off I said out Sure Mm-hmm

01:14:55.91
Bill
Maybe I'm, um I might, I think I'm tired. You know what? ah No, let me pull my pants up. Now I'm good.

01:15:03.98
Bill
but oh oh sorry I'll pull my pants back down but no I think maybe maybe I'm just fucking tired it's but it has been it has been a long week but I don't know but um it's I maybe a month ago I have no idea when I wrote these down but yeah ah excuses worse and more terrible than a lie I wrote that down wrote that yeah okay

01:15:18.64
Mike
Okay, but ah excuse is worse than a lie.

01:15:25.25
Mike
more date Yeah, more damaging, and yeah, to us and others, absolutely. Yeah, definitely, man. Again, taking the blame, taking responsibility, accepting reality. Yes, yeah it's it's far more making an excuse. Fuck that, man. even if it's Even if there's truth in that excuse, it's still worse because, yeah, it's, no, I did this. This is what I did. I'm sorry. I was wrong. Moving on. I'm going to try not to do it again.

01:16:00.61
Mike
It's way easier. No, well, it was because of this and the, it was, you know, the wind was blowing and how can I help that? Because I have no control over the wind. That's why I was a complete fucking asshole. No, I was a complete fucking asshole. I'm going to try not to do that again.

01:16:18.77
Bill
right and it is i mean when we're apologizing we're saying sorry not oh sorry and it is it is the way you say it too right because we we're like well well fine then sorry sorry whatever man okay fine then i'm

01:16:24.99
Mike
Right. No.

01:16:30.47
Mike
Sorry.

01:16:33.52
Mike
Sorry, I offended you.

01:16:35.76
Bill
Yeah, no, sorry, you're offended. That's the that's the not apology.

01:16:39.89
Mike
Right.

01:16:41.54
Bill
yeah that's ah as Again, they talk about that. they They look for that in stories when these fucking celebrities make mistakes or fuck up or do whatever, and then you know say say some shit.

01:16:46.75
Mike
see Right.

01:16:50.79
Bill
And then usually their um you know their apology that is you know obviously written by their publicist, it wasn't my intention to offend anyone with these words, blah, blah, blah.

01:16:59.78
Mike
Right.

01:17:00.67
Bill
And they're always like, that's not an apology.

01:17:02.90
Mike
It's not.

01:17:03.66
Bill
And it's not, it is absolutely not. I'm sorry you didn't like my bullshit.

01:17:08.42
Mike
Right.

01:17:11.10
Bill
I'm not sorry I said it, I'm sorry that you didn't like it.

01:17:14.69
Mike
Yeah. I'm sorry that you called me on it and I'm sorry that you're making me do this.

01:17:20.18
Bill
Right. Yeah. Yeah. Like the whatever whoever that chick was that did the national anthem and had to go to rehab. You know, I'm sorry I was drunk and had to go to rehab but hey this is this is going to be fun.

01:17:26.39
Mike
by

01:17:29.08
Mike
and see

01:17:31.73
Bill
I'm looking forward to it.

01:17:31.73
Mike
since

01:17:35.50
Bill
Oh boy.

01:17:37.27
Mike
Fuck now.

01:17:38.18
Bill
All right, let's see another one I had here. No idea what this is from. Do you feel that you have, okay, no label on this. I don't know what if it came from a reading or or something like that. Do you feel that you have true tolerance and understanding?

01:17:52.48
Mike
fuck no

01:17:56.74
Bill
ah Deep thoughts from Mike.

01:17:58.03
Mike
i Oh, absolutely not.

01:17:59.07
Bill
yeah

01:18:02.02
Mike
Um, am I more tolerant and more understanding than I was 15 years ago? Yeah, probably a little bit. Um, but no, I, and honestly, um,

01:18:16.24
Mike
Because I am sober and because I don't deal in bullshit anymore, I'm probably in some ways less tolerant and less understanding.

01:18:24.68
Bill
right right right yeah and that's uh you know and we we talked we talked about that before you know of uh you know the again the the bullshit meter or not wanting to not even a bullshit meter not even be able to pick it out i mean well that that's one thing but

01:18:25.80
Mike
Well, no, not less understanding, less tolerant. Um, more understanding, absolutely. And because of that understanding, less tolerant.

01:18:43.34
Mike
Yep.

01:18:47.54
Mike
Not being able to tolerate it.

01:18:49.31
Bill
Yeah, and just having no, no desire. And that's the thing too.

01:18:51.94
Mike
Hmm.

01:18:52.67
Bill
You know, we've talked about it. I don't know, it's not that I have no, there's so many people out there that in it, it, I don't know if it bothers me, it just, I kind of shake my head in it sometimes when I see all these, all these sober people on social media that, you know, alcohol exists and it's, the I mean, yes, I get it.

01:19:02.08
Mike
Hmm.

01:19:08.90
Bill
Okay. But, you know, don't hate those people, you know, and that's kind of what some of these posts are.

01:19:12.62
Mike
Right. Hmm.

01:19:14.68
Bill
And we've talked about that. I mean, if people can go out and do it,

01:19:17.32
Mike
Oh yeah, alcohol is poison and alcohol is so unhealthy and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So it's fucking cheeseburgers, you know, and they're goddamn delicious.

01:19:24.23
Bill
Right.

01:19:26.45
Mike
um Right. I mean, and again, you know, we've talked about it on here, man. The big book talks about we're not supposed to fucking be anti-alcohol.

01:19:34.41
Bill
Right.

01:19:34.55
Mike
I mean, those guys, Bill and Bob, um you know, I mean, they did the worst when alcohol was illegal in this country. Yeah, absolutely.

01:19:44.75
Bill
Right.

01:19:45.31
Mike
They knew the, the folly of prohibition, whether it's drugs or alcohol or gambling or whatever, man, you know, the government saying you can't do something does not fucking stop you from doing it.

01:20:00.89
Bill
Right. in And you know, that's the whole thing. I mean, I have um I don't have any issue with the people that are out there, you know, going out and party and and clubbing it and doing all the different stuff.

01:20:08.34
Mike
No.

01:20:10.72
Bill
You know, I don't want to be around it, though. It's not because I have a problem with them.

01:20:12.43
Mike
no No.

01:20:14.50
Bill
ah I just don't. I can't I can't be around that too much because, yeah, it's boring.

01:20:18.39
Mike
It's fucking boring.

01:20:20.47
Bill
And I just don't I don't want it.

01:20:20.63
Mike
tri Yeah.

01:20:22.24
Bill
It's again, it's it is a lack of tolerance. I'm like, I don't I don't know. I mean, I don't I'm not that person anymore. I'm not out there.

01:20:29.19
Mike
Yeah, right. ah

01:20:30.08
Bill
good A couple of beer, not even a couple. I got a couple of half cases of beer in me. you know I want to be out there woo-hooing and stuff. And I'm like, no, I think I'm, so this is not just not as fun, but you're right.

01:20:39.98
Mike
Right. Yeah.

01:20:44.62
Bill
It is, it's a matter of, um yeah, I mean, the lack of tolerance based on understanding, I like that.

01:20:51.11
Mike
Yup.

01:20:51.64
Bill
I do like that.

01:20:54.08
Mike
I understand far more than I did and I don't tolerate anywhere near as much as I used to.

01:21:00.51
Bill
Right. But yeah, the other thing too is just that it's almost, I don't know, part of it's a tolerance in those situations. And it just, I mean, like you said, it's boring. I have no, I don't feel like I have a place there. I mean, I'm not, I'm not all fired up.

01:21:10.79
Mike
who

01:21:12.39
Bill
You know, if, if I didn't want to play games, you know, the minute I walked in the door, um I'm probably not going to want to play games an hour later when everyone's in up and you know, you get all fired up and people want to play whatever games, you know, I'm like,

01:21:22.04
Mike
Yeah. Mm hmm.

01:21:25.02
Bill
No, I just I don't have that. I don't have that you know that the the extra fuel in me that everyone else has and it's cool man We talked about it plenty of times you and I had a lot of fucking fun yeah you know in not together because we didn't know each other then but individually wonderful fucking time for a lot of years, you know doing a lot of different things, you know, and I mean, yeah when it was when it was not funny anymore was fucking horrible I mean

01:21:31.19
Mike
Right. Absolutely. Right. Right. Yup. Mm hmm.

01:21:52.84
Bill
Don't get us wrong with that part.

01:21:54.55
Mike
Yeah, absolutely.

01:21:54.69
Bill
um you know

01:21:55.57
Mike
Yeah. Well, the balance of the fucking universe, man, you can't be that high without getting that low. you you gonna If you get up that high, you're going to be fucking just as low.

01:22:00.81
Bill
right

01:22:04.84
Mike
ah just the way That's why I like living in the middle today.

01:22:05.07
Bill
right

01:22:07.93
Mike
I don't want to be that high. I sure as fuck don't want to be that low. I like being right in here where the sweet spot.

01:22:15.48
Bill
Right? Well, and that's that's why I said it's just with with me, with literally, like I said, these these little fucking mood swings that I have. I mean, sometimes it's, I don't know, I mean, work can be work. We all have, you know, like you said, you had a hell of a day on Wednesday and man, this this month was so fucking slow.

01:22:25.06
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:22:29.62
Bill
And and again, ah it all goes back to the fear thing because I um i was, I gotta fucking tell you this. this is you know everything i fear based it's for me now with with the work thing it's it's a matter of pride yes um but the other part is is that really what it comes down to is i just um i there's a certain amount of money that i need to make and want to make um in order to do these things like i'm out here doing now you know and i don't want anything to fuck with my groove

01:22:50.21
Mike
Right. Right.

01:22:57.16
Mike
Yeah.

01:22:57.96
Bill
you know And so it is, if if if things aren't flowing, I wanna be the first one to blame. and i And I do, I do know what part of it was that was, this is factual, is the type of business I got are are one of our main, like one of the um one of the big wigs.

01:23:12.25
Bill
I got don't even know what her title is. She's really fucking cool, but she's the manager of my managers, okay?

01:23:18.58
Mike
Sure.

01:23:19.85
Bill
Um, but one of the most down to earth and and coolest people never met her in person, but she's fucking wonderful, but she's the one that, um, spreads out the business for all of us.

01:23:22.40
Mike
Mm-hmm.

01:23:28.68
Bill
Okay.

01:23:28.63
Mike
Right.

01:23:28.88
Bill
Like the new business.

01:23:30.07
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:23:30.31
Bill
And while she was gone for like 10 days and this other team, um, which again, they're good people, uh, but this other team was doing it and we have these, so there's.

01:23:35.77
Mike
Sure.

01:23:40.22
Bill
In our business, first placements, newer stuff, second placements, it means it went through somebody else, then came to us.

01:23:45.07
Mike
Right.

01:23:45.82
Bill
Not so new stuff, so you know usually tends to be less collectible, sometimes less information on it, blah, blah, blah. But there's two individual clients where we're getting a lot of these second placements from, um where if you hit them, bigger commission rate, all that stuff.

01:24:00.23
Bill
But the recovery percentage is 5% to 10%, where some of the other ones is 20% to 25%, huge difference.

01:24:00.50
Mike
Sure. Uh-huh. Right, right.

01:24:08.75
Bill
So, um, literally I was getting fucking loaded up on all these second placements and she was gone towards like the first two weeks of the month. And that's key.

01:24:15.76
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:24:16.92
Bill
You know, cause whatever you do in the first two weeks of the month, it's going to pay off in your last two weeks of the month.

01:24:20.84
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:24:21.39
Bill
And just how the process works, you know, and I'm getting all these fucking second placements.

01:24:23.05
Mike
Yeah, right.

01:24:25.43
Bill
I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? And I'm telling my manager, Chris, I'm like, first of all, I'm not getting any business. I'm like, what I'm getting, it's, I said, it's all these fucking seconds. And he's like, Oh, I'll talk to them. we bla blah So I get overloaded on this.

01:24:36.00
Bill
So that part of that's facts. I get it. Everyone I'm sure was dealing with it. But the other part is I just want to fucking blame everyone.

01:24:39.88
Mike
Right.

01:24:41.88
Bill
I'm like, I'm doing work every day. Why are people people blah, blah, blah, blah, blah?

01:24:43.50
Mike
Right.

01:24:45.13
Bill
But so all said and done, I collected way less than I, um, than I, my goal was, um, but I had to hit this one tier, which is 15,000 in order to get this extra bonus of 250 bucks.

01:24:57.59
Bill
And I mean, that's a big deal, you know, getting to this point, extra couple of few bucks.

01:24:58.79
Mike
Yeah. Right.

01:25:02.47
Bill
Yeah. Fucking um the last like two, three days in the month, I'm crushing it. and i'm And I'm like, oh, this is going to be good. I'm going to hit hit that that piece plus get a little bit more, not my goal, blah, blah, blah. So basically, it's like the the last half of the day, right?

01:25:16.74
Bill
And and I'm $133 short of this $15,000 grant. okay and i mean that's about percentage wise that's about an 1100 payment and i'm just i'm digging through everything i got and i'm like it's it's three o'clock it's three thirty it's four o'clock i'm like fuck these these two individuals that were supposed to pay

01:25:23.15
Mike
Ah. Uh-huh.

01:25:39.18
Bill
And I'm trying to get them, obviously get these payments done. That would have been like 2,500 bucks. So this payment comes through and I am not fucking shitting you at 443 on Thursday um for $1,250. That's a commission rate. It it put me literally $20 over.

01:25:58.15
Mike
Nice.

01:25:58.98
Bill
the 15 grand. and The only thing though, today we came in, she's like, oh, numbers aren't final.

01:26:00.97
Mike
Yep.

01:26:03.27
Bill
Again, the lady that I'm talking about, she's like, but but i'm like when I looked at the the piece that I can look at, it has me at $15,020 and twenty dollars in like 37 cents in fee, um which again, that doesn't matter whether it's one or 20 or whatever.

01:26:12.51
Mike
yeah Right.

01:26:17.20
Bill
I'm like, Jesus fucking Christ.

01:26:18.01
Mike
It's over now.

01:26:19.23
Bill
but But here's the thing, you know, um I can only be mad at, I could take all these factors and play, you know,

01:26:22.91
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:26:26.02
Bill
But when it comes down to it, um I've got to look back at what I do on a daily basis. And I can't look back at any day.

01:26:31.50
Mike
Yep.

01:26:33.87
Bill
I could say, oh, my fucking power went out. I took a day off on the 11th. That's 12 hours of time. No, 11 hours of time right there. Ooh, maybe that had to do with it. That shouldn't affect anything, right?

01:26:42.68
Mike
Hmm.

01:26:44.50
Bill
you know So I'm like, okay, it just is what it is. I'm not gonna go fucking broke. you know um it just It kind of is what it is, but I'm like, I need to and need to keep doing what I'm doing, make sure I'm working at everything effectively.

01:26:48.71
Mike
Right.

01:26:55.96
Bill
But in those cases, I want to fucking blame somebody.

01:26:59.35
Mike
Course.

01:27:00.44
Bill
I want to make up a story, I want to blame people, I want to yell, because then of course then then my manager, so hey, maybe payments coming in, how things go in the last couple of days that I'm just like, like I know it's slow and he's like, well, try this and that then he's telling me I'll do this and do that.

01:27:07.16
Mike
if Right.

01:27:14.35
Bill
I'm like, you know what, I get it. But I said right now I'm really frustrated, I'm just trying to do what I'm doing, because I'm trying to just, in my head I'm like, I don't want to tell him just fuck off and leave me alone, because I'm not going to do that.

01:27:26.75
Bill
But you know how it is. If you're, um well, you said the, um when I was out there that week, you had a bad day and you went, you said you just better off being by yourself, whatever day that was.

01:27:33.20
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:27:34.86
Bill
And I'm the same type of thing.

01:27:34.80
Mike
Right.

01:27:36.23
Bill
if If shit's going weird, I just want to, I want to focus.

01:27:36.70
Mike
Right.

01:27:38.47
Bill
I want to look at my computer and I just want to keep doing my work.

01:27:40.92
Mike
Right.

01:27:41.03
Bill
Fucking work, work, work. I know where I'm at.

01:27:42.06
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:27:42.59
Bill
I'm not fucking stupid.

01:27:43.82
Mike
Right.

01:27:44.74
Bill
I don't need that. Hey, hey, look at your numbers lately.

01:27:46.74
Mike
Right.

01:27:48.84
Bill
You know how how you do it.

01:27:48.81
Mike
a

01:27:50.22
Bill
Hey, big payments coming in. Poke, poke, poke.

01:27:52.09
Mike
Yeah.

01:27:52.36
Bill
Jesus fucking Christ. Am I a fucking idiot?

01:27:55.18
Mike
Uh huh.

01:27:55.59
Bill
I mean, again, that's all that's all fear. I know where I'm at, blah, blah, blah, but um I don't know, that's back to the point of just these, letting these, or I could easily let all these, and I'm gonna big fucking air quotes, stresses, fuck me up, and I just refuse to.

01:28:10.65
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:28:12.72
Bill
I just gotta, every once in a while, I just gotta be by myself, take a deep breath, and keep, just fucking, just keep doing it.

01:28:18.36
Mike
Yep. Absolutely.

01:28:19.28
Bill
That's it, you know?

01:28:19.60
Mike
Yeah. Yeah. ah Because, you know, the blaming is fucking pointless.

01:28:24.61
Bill
Right. Yeah. And I mean, what it's, it's not going to do any good for me to tell my boss to fucking leave me alone. Do you know?

01:28:31.83
Mike
Right.

01:28:32.77
Bill
I mean, I was just, I was just honest with him though. I said, I get it. I said, I'm, I'm really frustrated right now. I'm just continue to do what I'm doing. Type of thing nicely.

01:28:38.25
Mike
Mm-hmm.

01:28:39.50
Bill
Cause these are all in messages too. i So you got to be careful how you're typing shit.

01:28:40.99
Mike
Sure. Right.

01:28:42.44
Bill
Right. But to what last thing I can tell you about him. Okay, my manager's fucking cool. I love him to death as an individual and he's a great manager.

01:28:48.81
Mike
Mm hmm.

01:28:51.97
Bill
So we get on this our weekly meeting and he had he had a hoodie on today.

01:28:54.69
Mike
Hmm.

01:28:56.68
Bill
And um you know he pops on the screen and there was like three or four of the people on there. And I said, i said oh, I said, nice hoodie. He's like, thank you. And I said, i said that does your, how did I put that?

01:29:08.22
Bill
I said, oh, your wife lets you wear that you know or lets you wear her hoodie. And he's like, what? He's like, by he's like this is my wife, this is mine. I said, I'm messing with you. I said, you know all these women you know always say that um a guy's hoodie is theirs and this and that. I said, I was throwing that back at you like you took your wife's hoodie, that's all. I wasn't calling him feminine, right?

01:29:30.00
Bill
So this is it, this is at night, our 945 meeting is a company. And he's like, no, this night he goes, he goes, flay goes she her hoodies, he's telling me how they're tapered. He's like, never be able to fit into him. He's going to his log fucking thing. So we had call reviews with was me, him, um this other, like two other people on there.

01:29:49.01
Bill
so I was on and then one other person came on this guy James was very cool so you know you're shooting the shit back and forth a little bit that Chris comes on who's our manager and they say hey Chris how you doing and James kind of fucking around he's like sh you know we were talking about him blah blah blah and um Chris, my manager, he's like he's like, oh, by the way, he said, he goes, I've been asking people, he goes, everyone likes a sweatshirt.

01:30:09.11
Bill
He goes, I don't think, he goes, I don't see what you meant about, what you meant about, whatever. And I start laughing, I'm like, I'm like, I was just i just messing with you. And James is like, what are you talking about? So I explained it to him, so he's laughing.

01:30:20.08
Mike
ah hu

01:30:20.71
Bill
And he's like, no, he goes, he goes, I'm asking everyone. They're like, they like it, look at this stuff or whatever. and i And I said, I didn't realize how easy it was to get in your head.

01:30:28.24
Mike
Right.

01:30:28.59
Bill
I said, I said, I'm never gonna forget that now.

01:30:31.09
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:30:33.03
Bill
because he was, yeah, I mean a fucking self-conscious, making a joke out of it, you know, basically saying, huh, like I said to you that one year, I'm like, does that come in a men's? Whatever the fuck you were wearing again, had nothing to do with anything, but uh, all right, man.

01:30:41.74
Mike
Right.

01:30:49.10
Bill
Um, let me see what I, I got more stuff. You want to keep going? I don't.

01:30:53.33
Mike
You know, I don't.

01:30:56.25
Bill
I don't either. That was and was complete and utter sarcasm.

01:31:00.29
Mike
Uh huh.

01:31:00.54
Bill
So, guess what? It's your turn.

01:31:03.20
Mike
All right, cool. Well, thank you everyone for listening to another episode of Sober Not Mature. We're truly grateful that you're out there listening to us. How's that for the gratitude month, Kraft? All right. And yes, always be kind to each other, be good to each other, go out and do something nice for somebody else this weekend. Don't tell anybody you did it.

01:31:24.77
Mike

01:31:59.19
Bill
uh i was just lightly giggling over here because again i just i love the differences at the end there it's it kind of it does it makes it makes me laugh oh one last thing so yeah i booked a trip up in wisconsin for the 16th through the 23rd because some we're trying to figure out to get together with the kids because Kimmy's birthday is on the 11th, Derek was on the 12th of October and he was gone.

01:32:24.12
Bill
So we're going to do like a get together. And Kimmy's like, she's like, oh, Dawn wanted to get together with all of us, blah, blah, blah. So all said and done, we're going to get together at Dawn's house on the 17th, which is a Sunday.

01:32:35.00
Mike
Nice.

01:32:35.26
Bill
So I'm like, well, it'd be nice to be able to, well, what the fuck, be up in Wisconsin for a week, this and that.

01:32:37.70
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:32:40.09
Bill
So I found a place in two rivers, which is along Lake lake Michigan, yeah a few blocks off lake Lake Michigan. Got a decent deal on it, a little bit more than what I would normally want to spend, but it's still like an hour and a half away from Germantown, but um it's an hour and a half of Wisconsin driving versus driving it around fucking Chicago.

01:32:53.64
Mike
Uh-huh.

01:32:57.43
Mike
Right.

01:33:00.02
Mike
Yep.

01:33:00.21
Bill
So I'm like, yeah, fuck it. So I'm gonna go up there go go up there for a week. And yeah, got got that all set up.

01:33:03.40
Mike
Cool.

01:33:04.77
Bill

01:33:13.04
Mike

01:33:15.58
Bill
Ill with a cold. I mean, you're sick every day, but.

01:33:16.93
Mike
Yeah. Sick. All right. What's wrong with it now? Prince charming. hey

01:33:23.60
Bill
Yeah, so yeah, we'll have to figure that out. I have no idea what's going on with ah with the kids or what they're doing or anything like that.

01:33:28.46
Mike
Right.

01:33:28.84
Bill
But I don't know, that's coming up quickly. I mean, shit, before we know it, a few weeks, so.

01:33:33.05
Mike
Yep, exactly. Well, it's a bit later this year. So, uh, yeah, you know, right. End of the month. We'll, uh, we'll figure it out.

01:33:39.98
Bill
Eh, we'll do our, probably our gratitude episode that Friday, I would think, right?

01:33:43.04
Mike
Hmm. I would think so.

01:33:45.50
Bill
All right, well, you know what, on that note, I think we're done and I'll talk to you soon.

01:33:49.03
Mike
Yup.

01:33:51.34
Mike
You will.

01:33:52.06
Bill
